But somehow I don't see how that Fractal would remind you of strawberry short cake since uh - there is a lot of grey shades in there....spoiled strawberry short cake would be more suitable I guess

I think it is a really great image, and it does look like your style.
It is not average, for sure! It looks both feminine and gothic at the same time. WOW! 
It is well balanced with a feeling of depth. It reminds me of red and black licorice mixed with cherry and pink icing too!

Oh, I am sure not everyone would agree with the person who awarded your DD! Art is VERY subjective, and although I am sure that the people who select the DD's for dA are very qualified to judge artistic merit, a different group of judges would surely come up with a different group of DD's!
