Description The N-77 High Capacity Pulse rifle. Operates belt feld standard large pulse capsules. The perfect infantry rifle, compact, powerful and accurate.

The rifle shoots in ten round bursts (it can chew through ten rounds in under half a second) and contains 100 capsules per box mag.

Its compatible with BattleOS and syncs into a soldiers hud wirelessly to provide an aiming reticle and weapon status information.

Due to the ease of operation, and the fact that there are no moving parts other than the belt loading mechanism which is only used every ten shots, this pulse rifle can reach blistering rates of fire, achieving up to 2000 RPM's. The rate of fire isn't set but rather adjustable via the settings in the hud. There is recoil, albeit small, but noticeable when firing at high speed so lower speeds should be set for firing at a range. The user will also notice a considerable heat build up if fired for too long at high speeds, this will not compromise the weapons effectiveness but may be at a discomfort to the user.

As for accuracy, due to the nature of the pulse rifle round, this weapon is infallibly accurate, but the pulse rifle round does loose stopping power after a range.

So, how do your pulse rifles work? What is it they are shooting, exactly?

well pulse rifles, being science fiction weapons, are like... idk... ion canons or particle guns or something, they work in theory, but the technology is way out of reach.

Pulse rifles are supposed to work using shaped dark matter to propel a bolt of, well, anti matter.

again, its like particle cannons. I dont quite know how it works, only that it does. AND ITS EFFECTIVE.

Interesting. I always figured a pulse rifle was anything that fired a burst of energy. I used to call my LiR system pulse rifles when I still had them firing proton and electron clusters. I call a laser pulse a pulse laser (...duh).

I refuse to use antimatter as a weapon simply because it is A.) hard to store, B.) hard to transport from one part of a system to another, C.) it doesn't work in atmosphere because it would annihilate with it, and D.) it actually converts all the matter it touches into almost useless energy. I don't know about you, but I like to be able to rebuild after a war.

Still, I like how you do it here. 10 shots per capsule, that's a lot of juice. I imagine a rifle like that could chew through a tank.

yea anything that fires pulses of energy would be a pulse rifle

no no no! not antimatter, that shits volatile, it wouldnt work about four inches out of the barrel. Dark matter is different. I don't quite know the physics of it, but the inspiration for this rifle came from the half life pulse rifle which used the combine dark matter technology, and being from a different dimension, the combine had mastered dark energy.

here, refer to this page ([link] ) and specifically this image ([link] )

Notice the red marked shell? and the boxmag of red marked shells? the mechanism of the gun in game is that a firing hammer strikes the back of that shell and out the front of the gun comes a pulse of dark matter, they to hold ten charges.

its very sci-fi in its nature

Yes, I had noticed that. I actually only run HL2 with the Cinematic Mod, where those red shells (I'm going to call them "caps") have perforations on the back to symbolize each shot.

The funny thing about the Overwatch Standard Issue is that it's built on an AK-74 receiver.

Yeah, it is. Look at one up close next time you play the game. The top cover has been replaced with the beginning of the pulse mechanism and the stock is attacked to it. The front end is completely missing.
