I like too much Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, mainly the comic book. Don´t ask me why! They´re trash and nonsense, but I think they´re some of the most creative characters of the 80´s. I sent some Ninja Turtles drawings I made to the Ninja Turtles website´s art contest and one of them won the contest. The prize: a magazine autographed by Peter Laird, creator of the characters. What a prize, uh... hehehe! You may think money would be better. Well, I do agree, but I´m too satisfied with the prize anyway

you do know that in the Archie comics and TV show the Footclan ninjas were robots right? Than why are they bleeding blood not oil? But still great drawing

Maybe arms going out would make his chest defenseless. If he missed the move, the enemy could kill him stabbing his heart. Oh, I forgot, a ninja never misses a move. heheh! XD

I like the original Eastman and Laird comics as they were done in a lighthearted spoof of popular comics at the time:- Frank Miller's Ronin etc. The characters they created were cartoony and yet dark at the same time. Villians died quickly and blood was shed. The TMNT created a fury of black and white comics that imitated them but to me there will be only TMNT!

I thought that Peter Laird stuffing around with the comic was a bit harsh though. The original ink wash details such as Purple Dragon gang shadows on the first page are lost when it is simplified to be merely black and white. Would have saved on ink though so I dunno.

Plus she's obsessed with her beagle, Winston.

I love the pic and TMNT aren't nonsense! If you read the original comic you'd know they were nothing like the 80's cartoon, which was all sunshine and lolipops, except maybe a few select episodes

I´ve read the comics from the 80s and watched both cartoon series. I like them all. But in my opinion, the first TMNT comic books from the 80s were trash.
Peter Laird´s drawings weren´t that good, and the story telling could be better sometimes. It´s technically trashy, but it doesn´t mean that it couldn´t form a legion of fans. For each negative point, this comics had tons of positive points. And one of them is exactly the uncommon idea, the concept behind the characters. It´s so good that captivated lots of fans, even with a not so perfect graphic quality.
About nonsense... They are humanoid turtles named after Renaissance artists that practice ninjutsu, isn´t it nonsense enough for you? hehe! Maybe you didn´t understand me: being nonsense is a GOOD point for me! It´s pure creativity!
And I´m satisfied with the prize, i wrote it: "I´m too satisfied with the prize". It wasn´t a surprise for me that the prize would be an autograph. I knew that since i started the drawing, the webmaster says that in the website. If I wouldn´t be satisfied, would i draw anything for them for free? I drew it with pleasure and became very happy when i won the prize. I keep this autograph with me as a big treasure. But i still think that a prize in cash would be better. haha! XD

Did you know one episode of TMNT 2003 was banned? Well not banned but FOX was so "horrified" they refused to air it?
The episode is called "Insane in the Membrane"

Great Drawing,... I've loved them since I saw the first movie,... I remember back in the day,... the actual actors that played the turtles in the movies had dressed up and came to a pizza place that was a few miles away,... I was about 5 years old,.... I met them, had my picture taken with them,.... and I even got a poster singed by them,... I'll never forget it,.... mainly because it's so cool. The Turtles are making a comeback,.... they've made another movie,... it's computer animated tho,... I was disappointed that they didn't use the suits like the first movies,... but hey,... I'm not gonna complain,...

the 2003 TMNT is similar to the comics in tone, which is very dark and has plots that aren't resolved in a single episode. It's a great cartoon but is hated by the 80's fans for some odd reason.
Spider-man TAS was great and
it was better than it's predecessors

When i posted this drawing, i hadn´t seen the new series yet. Now I have. I like it, and i agree with you, it´s similar to the old comics series in tone. But it´s graphically much more perfect and the storytelling is wonderful.
I like 80´s series too, but for other reasons. Well, for me, being violent and having unsolved plots doesn´t mean that a story is better or worse, ya know.

oh well, most of the 80's fans hate the 2003 series for some reason. I'm just surprised they have most of the plots they have, they even say death! A feat for a Saturday Morning cartoon
Well I like the 80's series too, for it's contributions to the TMNT lore! At least TMNT 2003 has good stories, except maybe TMNT fast Forward it's too campy for me, I juts don't like the catchphrase "It's Ninja Time!"
