I can finally say that the coyote sculpture I’ve been working on for something like five months now (on and off) is well and truly finished! Yeeeeey!!!
The painting of the little tonal details took a huge amount of time to complete, and sometimes I felt like just giving up and throwing the darn thing, but in the end, I’m glad that I stuck with it. Although it didn’t quite turn out how I imagined, I am happy with the end result.
Btw, so here he is, all done and dusted, colour and all. I know I said that I would make a feather fan for him to hold in his paw, but in the end I decided to give him the little coyote feather I painted recently, as it seemed to just fit and was rather appropriate. I also gave him three pheasant feathers as a hair/head decoration (two heart-shaped bronze feathers and one white Lady Amherst’s feather). The whole sculpture was sprayed with a protective clear acrylic coating.
