This is based on H.R. Giger's painting "Necronom 4" [link] which was the basis for his design for the creature in Alien in 1979 [link] and at no point in that movie is it ever referred to as a "xenomorph".

But the creatures in "Alien" are known as the Xenomorph X3

That word is never used in the movie Alien, it is first said in Aliens and it is only a speculative term there. The creature is never actually named that. "Xeno" only mean alien anyhow, so it's a retarded term. It is the Alien
