Description Humor at my own expense
Laughing as my heart strings twist
When will they break?

Singing bitter lullabies
Stars falling like fireflies
When will I break?

Broken trust...
Like Stardust...
        Stardust...

Now I'm laughing,
So much better

Still the tasting
Oh so bitter

Will I break?
      Or will I fade?

Even though I've come so far
Nothing can turn stardust
               Into a star

Infinity to infinity
I always hoped you'd spend it with me
I guess it's smaller than we hoped
So I'm left to cry and cope
Always stardust
   Never a star
Your supernova tore me apart.

I am oh so stunned. That is a beautiful piece of writing, almost like a song.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. To quote John Green, "My thoughts are stars that I can't form into constellations." Maybe if I could it would be a song. But as it sits, it seems unfinished to me, as most of my work does. At any rate, I am glad you found it beautiful, and thank you for commenting.

No problem. Not all poetry really "speaks to me" as they say, but I really liked the lines and imagery. That's a pretty good quote too.

You know those books that you are sure the world won't be right until everyone reads them? "A Fault in Our Stars" (Where the quote is from) is one of those. And again thank you.

I will have to check that one out. I've heard about it, but haven't read it (yet).

I know what you mean about those books that need to be read... Thirteen Reasons Why was it for me.

Sounds like something I should read. If we both read each others books, then the world will be one step closer to being right again

Yeah! Thirteen Reasons Why is intense, but man, it got me right in the heart.

Same for "A Fault in Our Stars" it's wonderful, but in the most heart string pulling, want to call the author and scream "Why!?" repeatedly kind of way.

I'll be making a trip to the library tomorrow to pick it up. I really like that kind of book. When you're done reading it, you need a minute to recover and take it all in, but it sticks with you forever. I can't wait to read it.
