Welcome to Elf Captive 101. Ever wanted to have an elf of your own but can't figure how to catch one? Today's lesson teaches you how in an easy step by step way.

The first thing about elves is that they are immune to most low level spells, so they cannot be captured by simply knocking them out with a sleep spell.

What we also know about elves is that their low constitution makes them susceptible to all manner of drugs, and their relatively low strength makes it possible to physically restrain and overpower them.

However elves have highly sensitive hearing and can see infrared in the dark, so its also almost impossible to physically sneak up on them and grab them. Also, at first sight of the potential kidnapper, most elves will counterattack with lethal spells that can end your career as an elf collector really quickly.

Based on these parameters, you will need the following basic equipment:
1. A potion, scroll or cloak of invisibility.
2. A dimension door spell. Can be purchased from all spell shops.
3. A large bottle of chloroform. Can be obtained from most alchemists over the counter.
4. A large absorbent cloth that can soak up a large dose of chloroform.

Follow the following easy steps:
1 Stay invisible. Use a potion of invisibility or an item such as a cloak of invisibility to get within close range without being seen. Use the invisibility to get close without being seen or heard, and make sure the elf is alone.
2 Close to attack distance quickly. Use a dimension door spell to teleport yourself to grabbing distance behind the elf.
3. Quickly grab the elf while firmly pressing the cloth (presoaked in chloroform) over her nose and mouth. The cloth acts as an effective makeshift gag to prevent the elf from casting a spell or screaming for help, so make sure you hold it firmly over her face, but not too hard - you don't want to break her nose!
4. With the other hand, simultaneously restrain the elf by grabbing her hands or waist, pressing her tightly against your body. The element of surprise will usually cause the elf to gasp or otherwise breath deeply, which will cause her to breathe in large amounts of chloroform fumes from the drugged cloth. This initial breath will make the elf dizzy and disoriented, making her weak, confused and uncoordinated. This really makes your job easier!
5. After the initial attack, your invisibility spell will begin to fail, so parts of you will become visible, but thats okay as long as you're alone with the elf and maintain a firm grip on the girl. Even in their disoriented state, most elves will try to put up some form of struggle, and some smarted ones may even try to hold their breaths if they suspect they are being drugged. Persist! Keep your tight grip on the girl and eventually they will be forced to breathe in more of the chloroform.
6. It takes about 10 minutes for the chloroform to knock out an elf girl fully, so don't be fooled if the girl slumps over and faints quickly. They could be putting an act to throw you off guard in hopes that you release them. Look out for signs of the elf passing out, such as gradual weakening intensity of struggle, screams turning into faint moans, eyes rolling up etc. At arounf 8 minutes into the struggle, you can forcibly arouse the girl to make her breathe in more of the fumes. Use your imagination! At this point, the girl is too drugged out to put up any serious struggle, so have you can really play with your sleepy toy.
7. I really dislike having to carry a fully unconscious girl back to my house, I prefer to half-drag them back while they are disoriented and semi-conscious. In this dazed confused state, the girls will usually stumble in the direction they are pushed towards, so it is possible to "walk" them home in this way if you keep them semiconscious instead of fully knocking them out. To do this, once the girl stops struggling and is on the verge of fainting, remove the chloroform cloth from her face and gently nudge her in the direction you want them to go while keeping your other hand firmly wrapped aound her waist. Keep doing this for about a minute and the girl should recover enough to regain some of her consciousness. Time for her medicine again. Firmly reapply the cloth over her nose and mouth to drug her, making sure you keep her semiconscious rather than fully knocked out. Sometimes in between drugging, the girl may regain enough consciousness to plead or beg you to stop. Don't be taken in! They would like nothing better than to put a lightning bold through you. The elves are only truly safe once they have been properly hypnotised and spellbound. Time for the cloth again!
