Hey there
On Comic Con in Stuttgart I got a Shikishi from Copics.
Shikishis are square shaped papers with a golden frame used in Japan as farewell cards.
Mangakas like to use them as autograph card with a little sketch.
Since it's from Copics of course there is copic paper in front and I loved to use those markers again.
I really like the size and the paper... but the price is a bit too high with 8€. :/

Those colors are striking! That dragon's a real eye-catcher with its color and gorgeous musculature.
...And yes, that ridiculous paper price sound like what the hoity-toities charge for the high-end watercolor paper over here... But it sure does look wonderful.

Yeah.. I'm not really happy about the price either. Luckily I got the first one as a tryout present.
Maybe it's cheaper to buy them directly in Japan?

Came out quite gorgeously! The paper is surely more for occasional / commission work I guess

Yeah you're right. I was showing it in an art group and making commissions was the first suggestion I got.
I don't know if I'm able to get it a bit cheaper.. I'm going to wait until my favorite art supplier is back from vacation. ^^"
But actually it makes a lot of fun! I love the small size and the paper.

Bulk might be your best bet... and otherwise get a paper for reference and check any of the other brands for similar texture/feel and use those...
And otherwise, tank the financial dent and get a few
