It has been often asked as to what happens to one's soul upon death. I think that we do indeed impart some of our essence upon others, be they people or works of art and technology. So I *will* be sad at the eventual shutdown of both of the Martian rovers, because they do carry the spirit of human intelligence and passion to learn and know with them.
