Strangely enough, Shepherd was cool with this. She was a Spectre; she knew that it would end like this: Mutilated and bleeding out on some battlefield, wondering if the shock would keep her from feeling the pain before the blood loss made her black out or if she would be screaming for the mercy of death before the lights finally went out.
At least the Reapers were gone. She was cool with this... She was ready to go now...
