I imagine that must've been difficult to set up.

It wasn't that difficlt, actually It was quite quick, to be honest. Since I don't have serious equpiment (DSLR camera, lighting equipment, external flesh, etc.) I have to work with everyday tools I can find in the house. Sometimes it's challenging, but this time it was quite an easy setup.

So if you've got a good camera, you can set up shots like this with household items?Β

Photography is rather vision (and knowing how to handle the camera settings) than expensive equipment, in my opinion. Of course, the better camera you own, the more opportunities you have in manual settings. For example, it is hard to control the depth of field (the wideness of the area in focus) to reach a nice blurred background and bokeh, if your camera operates in automatic mode only. But as you can see, my camera (Panasonic Lumix FZ200) is only a bridge compact camera, not a top category expensive DSLR with a variety of professional lenses. But I can still reach similar photo quality with it
On the other hand, some people who own a professional DSLR cannot take advantage of its features because they don't understand the basic settings, therefore they take average photos with in auto mode with a pro camera, which could reach outstanding results.

I would love to take great photos, but I have a terrible camera, so my pictures look nothing like what I want to take pictures of. It's, like, the cheapest thing. Also, I have no idea how photography works, so even if I got a really fancy expensive camera, it'd take me a while to start actually taking decent pictures with it. Still, it's a nice dream to have.
Anyway, congrats on the DD, and thanks for the tips

What type of camera do you use?

I'm not sure, but it's from Sony, and it has a 25 mm wide-angle lens and 10x optical zoom, plus no means of manually adjusting the focus and a crummy movie mode.Β

Lovely! I really like the interesting distorting the waterdrop creates on the feather barbs. Congrats on the DD!

Thank you for your kind comment! Β Try to use full manual settings (or aperture priority) and always use a tripod to avoid camera shake
