Still one of my favorite Comic Books... I remember finding out my grandmother had a collection of comics (keep in mind she is an old african american catholic devotee)
Used to read Deaths Head II religiously

Holy crap man....I just wrote you on your journal entry about anatomy and then started looking at more of your stuff just for fun. I hadn't seen that this was your work before. HAHA. Man....I have to admit. I had this book in my desk at school for so long...I had to staple the cover back on. I can't even remember the story or anything...but THAT COVER blew my mind. It was one of the things that REALLY made me know for sure I was forever in love with sci-fi and comics. Awesome man. Pure awesome. Thanks for that. HAHA. I can't tell you how good it feels to say so as well.

This here's the bizniz. I've still got a TPB-style compilation, yet floppy, Swedish edition of this comic, with this cover, somewhere.
Me and my older sister read it until it litterally fell apart. 0_o It's like in 3 different pieces! Think I put it in a bag eventually, to keep it together...
She started copying you btw. She did at least 10 character-pose recreations from this mini-series. I think it was like 80% Tuck!
Coolness.

YOU made that cover? YOU? OMG, that's one of my favorite issues! I love the post, holding the ravaged remains f the series title character like a fishemen with a prize, that draws us in at once like, "OMG, he can't be dead,he's the star!" and then having this strange new-comer (Minion) talking with DH's mannerisms... oh, intrigue, intrigue. You sir are GOOD.

WHOAH! You did this cover! This one is the one Deaths Head cover that stands out from my childhood (early adulthood?) - and the inspiration for my recent Deaths Head art I did as a contest entry: [link]
WOW! I wanna thank you for this art - it's truely inspiring !

LOL! Nice twist!
Yeah, I did the whole redesign and ten issues worth of the comic too, so it's a character close to my heart.
There's a big article about my Marvel UK days here if you're interested:

No. The original was first Geoff Senior, then Bryan Hitch - though I did do one issue.

You made the cover only? Or the story/character? I was never really into comics, but I stumbled upon a Death's Head comic some years ago and fell in love with it!

Oh no, I did the equivalent of ten issues, the mini series, firsat four ongoing, and the double sized Death's Head Gold, which I also wrote. Happy days!

Good times enjoying art by yourself, Gary Frank on Motormouth and Brian Hitch on, what was her name, Phoenix or Angel? Totally unexpected stories, new characters and the US heroes looked like chumps compared to this new crop of strange and unusual heroes.
Thanks for driving me down memory lane...

This brings back some good memories. This series led me to going back and purchasing the first issue of the first Death's Head run, as well as Dragon's Claws issue 5. A lot of not-so-hard-earned allowance well spent.
