Description
This was a piece I did while still assisting the late great Don Lawrence when I was just 17. It was a Moebius inspired work, the gag being that the creature's mood would dictate the weather. It later became the template for Kia and the Lost One from the Kiazmus story...This is scanned from a photocopy as I long ago lost the original.

It always amazes me to see young people that just come out of the gate with amazing shit. Although I can really only cite music examples, like Metallica's first album, the first two Emperor albums ( they were like 16 when they did their first album and 2 years later when they did the second), Angus Young. Honestly I didn't know this happened in comics as well. Usually it takes a few years to really get good. Hell even Art Adams spent a year on the first Longshot issue.

I think I had to get a lot worse before I could get better again - this business can batter your ego and confidence, even if you have the talent at the outset!

Well I think that any kind of creative sort of job can really mess with your ego. Hell even putting stuff up here can be a blow to your ego

True people are nice here, but I think its a blow to the ego when you put up a picture of a super hero or famous character and you see how many views that gets versus the rest of your work...even if that work is much better. It just makes you see if people really like your art or what you are drawing...
