This was the original cover to issue 7, before I changed my mind and decided to do a fully painted cover instead. I LOVE drawing Namor. A great character.L.

This takes me way back to my days in the darkroom, shooting base art on an old Klimpsch gallery camera that took up 3 rooms.
I assume that the blue working lines were so they weren't picked up by red light film. Of course, I'm sure you can also apply the same sort of filtering effects digitally. It's been many, many years since I was involved in that end of the industry.
It's nice to see this series of original drawings.

I dunno, Man-thing is no stranger to unintentionally hilarious covers. One of the highlights of my sequential art history class is when my teacher told the class about the old Giant Sized Man-thing issue. You can't make up stuff that priceless.
