Description
Rorn's story, in short (i hope):(I)Rorn was born in a small village somewhere, where he lived with his mom, mostly working at a nearby farm(fav.me/d651syf ) with other pawniards.
However one day he was recruited into this group of trainees for military services or sth like that idk (forgive the bad explanation, i havent completely figured this part + bad engrish) , and turns out he's a pretty talented kid...he wasnt strong, but he made up for it with his skills and brains. (II)So he was transfered to this other, special unit...
Now here I should a thing first.
Precisely, my headcanon for pawniards & bisharps.
Now according to the games' pokedex entries, pawniards are explained as some sort of underlings:
"They fight at Bisharp's command. They cling to their prey and inflict damage by sinking their blades into it."
"Ignoring their injuries, groups attack by sinking the blades that cover their bodies into their prey."
whereas Bisharps are their bosses, or captains, or commanders:
"It leads a group of Pawniard. It battles to become the boss, but will be driven from the group if it loses."
"This pitiless Pokémon commands a group of Pawniard to hound prey into immobility. It then moves in to finish the prey off."
So my headcanon is that pawniards are, by nature, very obedient creatures. You know, very loyal, believes in&respects the leader. Bisharp, the leader, has many benefits, but also the biggest responsibility. He needs to take care of his group. When a pawniard starts thinking for himself, like completely, and gets all "rebellious", it means they're maturing and are ready for evolution. After they do they either fight for the leader position, or lead a whole other, new group of pawniards.
And thats normal, and works out perfectly. Thats just how the nature of their species is.
Back to Rorn.
His mom didnt belong to a group, she decided to leave and live alone with Rorn. She didnt approve when they took Rorn away, but she couldnt do much apart from hoping they'd give him back after the training (they usually do).
But Rorn showed much talent. And that special unit he was transfered to, they needed 100% loyality.. and they knew this nature of pawniards, following without questions.
(II)So Rorn, who never experienced the full impact of his nature, was hugely influenced by what they thought him. He was basically brainwashed into a robot who just followed orders.
Like, no emotions, no thinking, no me, there was just the leader (who wasnt a bisharp btw) and his word is everything.
(III)He was pretty good at his job, until an incident happened where Rorn just couldn't get over an order... he tried to like, pass around it, like to do as told but not exactly. The boss was not pleased, however. (IV)As punishment Rorn had to fight him, but one of the rules burned in his head was to never hurt the boss. So yeah, you can think how that turned out...
Rorn was left to die or sth but then Vista stumbled upon him, accidentally started a fire but in the end healed him.
After a long, confusing conversation they teamed up and got to Tao. (Vista became his "leader")
There Rorn was more or less ok, since he didnt have to do any more...shifty...tasks, but be, like, normal. Also Vista was very fun to tease.
(V)All was well & nice, Vista was about to learn of his nature and help him, but then he got sent to the past. Where he just followed what anyone told him. So he got heavily injured, lost mobility in his leg, and who knows what else.
When he got back to the future he reunited with Vista and eventually evolved! But I'll get to that part later, in another pic.
WHEW. it wasnt short.
To whoever read my comics, hope Rorn makes sense now!!
