Description
"Mitia, I do not blame you... you did what you could to stop it."Zayed's voice was stable, as always, but at the same time low and careful, adding a strange kind of softness to his otherwise stern face.
"I don't hold it against you..."
Zayed's blue eyes turned towards the albino in front of him, who was sitting with his back leaning against the raised pillow, hands clenching the fabric of the simple sweater he was wearing. Red eyes carefully avoided returning the gaze, and a silence fell between them, the albino seemingly struggling to keep his composure.
Slowly, after several seconds, Mitia answered, his voice low and hoarse from suppressed emotions.
"I always knew that you would forgive me, Zayed, that is not the problem..."
"Then what is?" the other asked somewhat impatiently, driven not by anger, but concern.
The albino slowly drew a deep breath while the slim fingers clenched harder around the soft fabric. He was still not returning the eyecontact that Zayed sought, and when he answered, it was but a cracked whisper, void of his normally carefree attitude:
"... how am I ever going to forgive myself?"
.~*...*~.
SO. This is what Mitia put me through this time. I have no other character that forces me to improve and work my ass off as much as he does.
Which means that I will never, ever stop drawing him, I hope
This is from a written story of mine (I guess, although it's not written yet) and is really about my character Laurion and *Sjazna 's Zayed (here seen to the right, yes) but ever since Mitia jumped in and stole the spotlight, I am so ready to ditch Laurion for the freaky albino
So what are they talking about?
Well, Mitia, Zayed and a bunch of other kids grew up at a laboratory due to their special abilites - Mitia can control light and lightning for an example - but some of them managed to escape... Mitia was not one of them, because he sacrificed himself to let the others get away.
Years passed, anyway, and Mitia did not die as everyone believed, but brainwashed and trained into a sort of super soldier and then sent out to the world to kill off his old friends that had managed to escape a similar fate.
A chip was installed at the back of his neck to pump him full of drugs and keep him under control and it was not until he met Zayed that he started fighting against it - by then having already killed several of the children that had managed to escape.
Then a lot of stuff happened, but in the end, the chip was removed and Mitia could return to normal... or... well... at least somewhat.
Truth be told, he doesn't REALLY regret having killed all those people - that's the problem with him - but he DOES regret being controlled and not doing it out of his own free will. It's a tiny difference, but a difference none the less (meaning that had he felt like it, he might have killed them on his own, yes, but the chip was what made him so determined that time... and THAT is what he regrets... you are so fucked up... )
And he does actually regret nearly killing Zayed (he looked pretty into it though: [link] ) Because he kinda likes him. A lot.
So that is the story behind it... and the picture is a part of an Art Trade between me and *Sjazna ...
And yes, I worked my ass of for this one.
I've noticed that whenever I do realism practice, I do a portrait and then nothing more, so this time I decided to do a picture - for real - and... well... it put me to the test, to say the least, but it was worth it.
I learned a lot, and even though I'm still uncertain on how I want to colour white hair, this looks pretty nice.
I'm very proud over this one...
Enjoy!

I think i'm in love with Mitia, he's exactly the kind of character I always get drawn to in films/bks.

I'm pretty in love with him too, but I am, on the other hand, extremely partial x'D

This is so sssaaaaaaaadd!!! Mitia cheer up, it's not like you to be this sad and and ... Okay I understand why but still...!!
I can somewhat agree about ditching Laurion for Mitia, because... as we've mentioned sometime... this is one of the few stories where they (Mitia and Zayed) would be able to actually have a mutual... relationship based on love. Or at least something incredibly close to it.
And well... -I'm- glad that Mitia got the chip out and all that, but I'm not sure that it was the best for Mitia. I'm not sure that it was for the best for either of the three, seeing as there's a huge risk in what Zayed did to "free" Mitia of the chip and the control it had. The laboratory had.
The emotion in this is strong. Really deep and strong. Perhaps I only think so because I KNOW the story in full, but I still... it's just really really hard not to cry right now.
Good job, even though it is a year late to say it

It is indeed
He... well... sometimes it's difficult to be Mitia, especially when he doesn't know what to do
It's probably as close as they can get to love, yes... while Laurion can settle for something more like brothers than lovers this time. So I'm voting for Mitia this time
It will probably be very dangerous, yes... Mitia would have prefered to die But things didn't turn out that way and he's not the suicidal kind so they will have to try to fix it anyway... and I'm sure that they will, somehow
I think so too... it's a picture that really moves me since Mitia is sad so rarely.
But it helps that I know the full story, yes, since it's difficult to explain it in a small picture description x'D
Better late than never, I guess

Aw, he's so sad..from what I read on your other pictures I didn't think he even could feel sad. Awwwww.
I love the soft shading on his face.

It happens very rarely, yes, and when it does it is only for others.
He never cries for himself, for an example.
Thank you

gah, I feel like a mega-dork for always going on complete fangirling-rants about the stories and the characters and I never have anything 'real' to add to my comments. so, I'll try to be a better commenter.. haha, someday maby;;
Gaaawwh ;X3 ... *slapfaceSLAPFACE*
okej I calm down..
- you really make me wanna draw something so that I can try to soft-shade it. Your shading - so soffft I wanna touch it!! D:
AND I love the story and poor Mitia and Zayed and all those things that I always love about your stuff
That expression looks so genuine and deep, like he's about to loose the control of his emotions in any second now (just like you wrote). Great work!!!!

Well, I don't really mind Whatever you write, you always tend to make me smile, so you DO give me happiness anyway
I seem to be very good at that soft shading part, and since I'm trying to learn it without the blur tool, it's quite interesting ^_^
The emotion was the main goal of this picture, yes, even more so than the realism, because I wanted to draw Mitia with an expression that he normally doesn't have...
This is what I came up with

Wow, lots of emotion in a silent, subdued sort of way. I love the translucent curtain behind him - it looks so real.

Thank you
I was hoping for that ^_^
And the curtain was strangely fun to make, even if it took a while and was tricky.
But... then again, most things on this picture was x'D

You already know how much I love this one.
And I wish I could say "instant love!", but since I've seen this during its painting process, well, it's more like this: "It's mah baby!!!"

Yes, I do... you said it quite clearly when it was finished
It's mah baby too!
Stupid, painful picture
But it's pretty at least
