Description A detailed colour guide for colouring Fluttershy. This should have every colour you need.
Sometimes, the images appears as jpg even trough they're png, press the Download button if this happens.

Everywhere, people uses different colours on every vector. This guide uses the same colours from the iTunes 1080p release. RAW, with no YUV to RGB conversion.
These colours are updated from Wonderbolt Academy (S3E7)

To get the right colour, I found a frame which had the character up close, then I found a large spot which isn't affected by compression, and used that as the official colour.

You are allowed to use this artwork,
only as a colour reference guide when colouring your vector or other artwork
you don't have to give credit.

I didn't made any vector of her, and didn't get the colours, and I did suddenly stop doing these for some reason.

I love these color guides you have made. Since you ask for suggestions, I think that a if you had a simple line leading from each color to an example of the color being used on the pony, ending the line with a small dot, that could prevent any confusion related to similarly named colors.

I'd also like to know what the colors are for the cutiemarks of the other ponies that you have done in the old layout style, since cutiemark colors are not included with that layout. Although I do believe I read somewhere that you were planning to add cutiemark colors already.

I have noticed also that the β€œgeneric” colors for mouth given by the new layout, are different from the mouth colors given by old layout. This confuses me, as I do not know if it was an intentional correction that was made in the new version, or if it was a mistake. I shall go with the mouth colors for the new layout because the darker shade they are seems to make more sense for the mouth.

And might I also suggest a small reusable close up image placed near the area where the generic colors are given?

In the end, I guess the creative decisions are yours to make, but maybe these things will help you?

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll look into them. See if I can do something...
The generic-colours are updated according to the latest version, but I'll see if I can update the rest too.

Half a year later... I've updated this.
I'm not fully satisfied with this myself, but I wasn't satisfied with the old either.
(You can still find the old one in the description)
Maybe you have suggestion that could make this better?

Your welcome. I've said that I'm going to update these with the latest episode and with cutie mark. So these will be more useful.

You should put these colours all in one image like the other one you have.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Liggliluff In reply to GuruGrendo [2012-02-23 20:39:41 +0000 UTC]

That is a lot of colours then, and you don't colour more than one pony at a time anyway. And if you have 2 ponies, then open up 2 tabs/windows then. Great huh?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

GuruGrendo In reply to Liggliluff [2012-02-23 20:46:53 +0000 UTC]

I like to have all the colours on one image, I work on multiple things at once, so that would just slow me down if I had to open up more tabs for different ponies.

That's why I like your other one so much.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Liggliluff In reply to GuruGrendo [2012-02-23 22:24:04 +0000 UTC]

Paste it on the image your working on, as a separate layer. If I put everything on one image, then that image would be... very big, or every colour would be very small. It would be a lot of work, just to satisfy one person, sorry.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

GuruGrendo In reply to Liggliluff [2012-02-23 23:54:57 +0000 UTC]

Then do you mind If I make one using your swatches?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Liggliluff In reply to GuruGrendo [2012-02-24 12:15:42 +0000 UTC]

You're supposed to use this guide

But what If I want all the colour swatches on one?

No?

No?

Liggliluff In reply to GuruGrendo [2012-02-25 02:57:57 +0000 UTC]

No. If you want to use these guides, then do that. If you want to put them all on one image, then do that. But do not upload the same or any modified version of these guides. Thank you.
