Description
Barefoot HorizontalWith rounded shards of sideways curious glances
Rain dances as the pit-pat rhythm enhances
The night's own answers
To a shoulder to shoulder smile
Across the sheltered conspiracy
To commit heresy or pleurisy
As we try to breathe curiously
In mix-matched counter-rhythms with the rain
Allowing yet another swallow
To moisten the fallow sanctity of hallowed
Originality that makes us all shallow
But again with the barefoot solitude
Dancing without this needed 'proving'
That if all were moving and grooving
Then where's the point in behooving
A comical jest of wondrous mystery?
But again with the tick-tock rhythm of the rain
Were it to be smattered in the advent of correlation
And yet there is no relation to this elation
And eternal damnation
Tempting are the sins I've heard so much about.
Signaling a shroud of disbelief
Or maybe a bas relief of what was once grief
To be remembered in the fossil of a maple leaf
Before Winter immortalized the rain.
