I absolutely LOVE these two and I couldn’t bring myself to separate them. While they have a bit of an age gap, as they get older, they may settle down. Around the time of these pictures, they’re already adults.
In 2018, I was dying to do a remake of both Ro and Oka, since I made them around the same time and they were so cute together when I imagined how they behaved towards each other. I believe that it would be a great disservice to not show them together in some form, since their stories are strongly connected to one another. Oh and I also made Oka in honor of the Year of the Rooster as well hahaha. I loved the American Robins as well, hence Ro’s creation. I didn’t plan much from them originally, but after building the basic story about Ro’s trip outside Rito Village, I began shipping her with her mentor Oka. No, I don’t have a student-teacher fetish. Or at least not anymore. I ditched that thing a long time ago after hitting Senior Year, that is, if I had such a thing at all. I ship my characters when they have a fond connection built, mentor and student or not. The only exceptions would be bloodlines and large age gaps if one side is very young. For example, as much as I find Varuna and Yatsuma very cute together, I can’t make it a thing due to Yatsuma being a minor.
Anyway, I hope to post more about Ro and Oka someday, but first, I got other things to do! Ooh! And I just realized that they both turned 2 years old not long ago! Around the month of March, if not February! I’m so happy for my Rito children!
