A/N: This is something I've been genuinely curious about ever since I saw Genos eating and bathing with Saitama. But also, Tumblr is partially to blame for this creation. Anyway, enjoy! Saitama Lemon not far off. And yes, you saw that correctly.

Humanly Functions

Genos was something of an oddity to you. When you first met him, sure, he was very attractive with his choppy blonde locks, and pale face. Yet he still has the body of a machine pieced together with the most advanced equipment known to man. Yet for such an advancement, he still behaved and functioned primarily as a human being with the need to eat, sleep, and bathe.

For some time, you had been pondering Genos' involvement in these basic human needs – possibly longer than most people might ponder about. But today whilst Saitama is out on this relatively cool and quiet day, you sit at the chabudai playing with a mandarin orange and listening intently to Genos tidy up Saitama's home. So naive... Genos' face was the first to pop up in your mind as you tempt yourself to open the orange and start snacking on the fruit. However, you merely graze you nail against the skin then glance up as you hear shuffling come your way.

“I am done with the house chores. Are you bored? We can leave and go shopping until master returns?” Genos' voice is warm and deep and it resonated within your own body in an oddly comforting way. Even with his pink apron on, his amber irises locks onto your eyes reminding you at that moment he is still the Demon Cyborg, an S-class hero.

Tearing your gaze from him for a moment, you shake your head. “Honestly I just wanted to sit and talk with you.” You tell him. When you glance back up at him, he seemed surprised and merely stands still as if not knowing how to respond just yet. Thus you continue speaking while keeping your eyes on him. “I've been extra curious about you these past few days, especially after seeing you go to the Onsen with Saitama. When I look at your body...” Heat spreads across your cheeks the moment those words flows out of your mouth. Although you meant it both ways, in the back of your mind, you didn't want Genos to think of you as someone who was thinking of something so lewd. Yet you could not argue that to some degree it is a bit lewd.

Still....You really wanted to know.

An indiscernible sound escapes Genos' mouth and he lowers his head. His glances at something else on the floor even though the floor has been cleaned spotless. “...What exactly is it about my body that you want to know?”

With the orange still within your grasp, you roll it around as you glance at Saitama's desk if only to help calm your nerves. The air in the room started to feel hot and uncomfortable – similar to a sauna even though it is only the middle of fall. “Well...Um...” You cough, sensing the words now getting stuck in your throat. This is not how I wanted to ask him...But I can't take it back now... Biting your bottom lip, you take a deep breath then slowly release your breath. “Everything...” You whisper just loud enough to make sure he heard you. “I want to know everything because I'm curious. Not because I'm being a perverted fan, but genuinely curious as to how you function when you...Take care of basic human needs.” You trail off, too embarrassed to look at him now.

From the sound of it, Genos removed the apron and likely set it down somewhere out of your field of vision. What you are left with are his heavy footfalls approaching you and just as you start to eye his movements, he sits down next to you, sparing you a little space between the both of you. You relax, hearing the very subtle whirring of whirring of his body and the sensation of his warmth radiating off him in such close proximity.

Considering the atmosphere, you aren't quite ready to give him your full attention. But you glance at him from the corner of your eyes, allowing the fruit to rest within your hands for now. Why are you so darn attractive? It's making me feel more conscious of everything despite knowing you have mechanical parts. I really want to know what you looked like when you were younger, too!

“I see...I could tell you in detail, but maybe you have more specific questions in mind. Do you want to start with those first?” His voice remains gentle and calm and it showed in the way he is sitting with his right arm casually draped over his propped up knee. However he kept his eyes focused on the wall ahead possibly, you assume, to make the situation less uncomfortable.

Or maybe he was feeling self conscious, too?

Thinking of the possibility that Genos might be uncomfortable talking about his body with you, you sigh thinking it best to just drop it instead. “Genos...Don't feel obligated to tell me anything. It was kind of rude of me to ask without thinking how you might feel, too.”

Golden irises shift and lock onto you. “It's ok. If it's you, I don't mind telling you what you want to know.” He smiles kindly, and the moment you glance up at him in question, he clears his throat into his right fist. “At any rate, what do you want to know?”

“Well, why do you still do human things? I know at one point you were one-hundred percent human, but you're mostly mechanical right? I guess,” You look down at his hand feeling a bit melancholy about his life and the experiences he may never have again or ever in his life. “Does it depress you at all knowing what you've lost?”

Genos stares at you for a moment as if deciding how to answer then he glances away and stares at the wall again. “Mm, it did for a very long time. I lost everything. My family, my life, my town. But I didn't want to die and if not for doctor Kuseno, I would have. He restored my life that day and even though I asked him to enhance my body so that I can one day find and destroy that cyborg, I didn't want to lose my humanity. Doctor Kuseno agreed with me that it was best to keep my humanity for the sake of my family and the sake of protecting others so they do not suffer the safe fate as I have. I want to be strong...As strong as master, but I never want to forget that I was human, too because I would become just like that Cyborg who rampaged my town. I simply did not want to forget what it was like to be human despite what my body has become.”

His answer relaxes you physically as if a wave of understanding washed over you. “Of course. I was so blinded by what you are capable of and everything you are right now, that I overlooked such a basic answer.” You tap your forehead lightly with your fist. “Sometimes being too analytical has it's downfalls,” you say jokingly as you smile humorously at Genos. “Well, what about your senses? Do you still need to eat? Does food taste the same?”

Genos laughs and it's a rare sight knowing just how serious he can be. “I don't really need to eat, but I still enjoy eating. Doctor Kuseno installed sensory mechanisms that allow me to taste food and enjoy it like any other human. I can tell the difference between spicy, and sweet. Sour, and savory...Hot and cold but temperatures do not affect me the same as they would you. But food still tastes the same. I know there is another question on your mind, so if you don't mind, I'll answer that, too.”

Lifting a brow, you eye the blonde curiously. “Oh, so you analyzing my thought pattern or you simply just know how I am now?” You joke.

Genos just stares at you seriously. “You're just obvious. You have a particular pattern that I can figure out pretty easily.”

You simply smirk at his comment, not bothering to argue or defend yourself. “Then carry on.”

“I'm certain you wanted to ask about me going to the Onsen with master the other day and if I can sense the water and the temperature.”

….Damn.... A mixture of what sounds like a grunt and and a sigh escapes your lips, but you say nothing even as Genos' eyebrow pops up in curiosity. “Don't mind me, I'm just making noises as usual,” you brush his curiosity off in favor of learning more about his body. That and you didn't want to let him know that he hit the nail on the head about your next inquiry.

Genos nods his head and continues speaking. “I can still sense the water. The sensory mechanisms works in the same manner even if I do not feel pain the same way as I use to. I guess you can say I have a much higher pain tolerance built in, but I can still feel the same sensation of warm water envelope my body. I don't really need to bathe, and my body only needs to be serviced every few months or depending on how badly damaged I am. But I enjoy bathing and sitting in the warm water while relaxing mentally and in a sense physically. If you were to touch my hand right now, I would be able to sense it.”

Heat rushes to your cheeks once more as you stare at him, now leaving the orange on the table for an experimentation. “Is that so...So...If someone was to....Kiss you, could you feel that, too?” Oh my god....! What the hell am I asking?! Your cheeks started to burn a little when you slide your hand over his. “A-and I'm asking purely out of speculation to know to what extent can you sense things? Did the doctor grant that to you as well? What about...” You glance at his lips for a moment, marveling at how realistically smooth and fleshy they seem. It was hard to imagine that even though his face looks so much like human skin, it cracks like potter's clay. Your eyes trail further down to where his hips starts.

A part of you really wanted to know.

Genos' eyes widen slightly but he doesn't make a move nor does he glance away. “I could kiss and I could feel it. But I've never kissed anyone before so I don't know how I would be able to register that sensation just yet,” he trails off and looks you in the eyes. “I can still sense everything, even that. Although I don't know what that is like either I didn't want to lose my chance to sense any that either.” He lowers his head, shielding his eyes from you with his hair.

You were certain at that point if Genos still had blood vessels he would be blushing bright red right now. It also baffled you...Why did he, a cyborg like him just hint at his still having the ability to....

You reel back realizing just how close you are getting to Genos and your whole body felt hot as you fall back onto the palm of your hands upon losing your nerves. “I wasn't expecting you to actually tell me! I mean, I was curious but...I....Whoooo it's really hot in here. Um, Genos...Do you have any exhaust fans on that's heating the room up?” You laugh uncomfortably as you clamp your legs shut when your imagination starts running wild. “I think I need some water and I think I'll end my questions here for now as you've pretty much enlightened me very clearly.” You cough into your hand and glance away while desperately attempting to cool your face down with your hands.

Standing up, Genos keeps his head lowered. “Then I'll get you some water. I don't know what came over me either. Maybe I need to have Doctor Kuseno check my wiring or maybe I've analyzed your next question incorrectly. I've told you, too much this time.”

Waving him off with a hearty chuckle, you lean back onto one of your hands. “No, no. it's fine. I pressured you a little to answer. But at least I know the pleasure of being human hasn't been stolen for you thanks to the good doctor.” You smile despite the warmth spreading through your body. Thus you fan yourself instead. “Whoo, it's really hot in here. I think I'll go on the balcony for some fresh air.”

Genos nods his head then pivots and heads to the kitchen without another word.

Groaning, you stand up as well then slide back the glass balcony door and breath in the fresh air. I have a crush on a cyborg and I wanted to copulate with him...What kind of weirdo am I? You try to reason as you lean against the balcony and stare at the clouds in the sky.

I'm weird...Really weird for thinking that way.

Meanwhile Genos quietly fills your glass with water in the kitchen, and he sighs to himself. Doctor...I was stirred by a woman for the first time since my rebirth...I thought such a function is unnecessary as a cyborg and the other functions are enough.

But...

'That' is also part of being human, too, right?
