Description

By day she is cheerful, surrounded by people. As night draws closer, and she finds herself alone, clouds gather over her head - anxiety, depression, fear. A crystal glass, liquid burning on it's way down - release from the reality which presses heavily, suffocating her mind. Yet although it is the easiest way to oblivion, the duct tape of sickly sweet alcohol is barely holding her soul together in these moments.

A darker piece exploring alcoholism and drugs as a way of release from reality - escapism and depression.

The euphoria uplifts, but there is a darker side to it, which preys on the body and the mind, it oozes and drips scarlet. The twisted beauty of a dependence or addiction is juxtaposed with the bleak consequences.
