So,.. I'm not feeling very well today and thought just to fiddle around a bit to try and relieve the boredom somewhat.. I wasn't trying to do anything serious, just playful, very playful, and this fits the bill I think. lol (the original photo gave me the idea for the rats
I thought I'd try to 'fluff' it up a little. (those originals - that's a brave kid - even if they aren't really rats - whatever! - they look like they have big teeth! lolJust did some painting, and played around with some filters for a change. .. I made the little girl look like a somewhat older kid, me thinks - an older 'elf'-kid LOL ..
I think it's an early night for me tonight. Nite nite ppl

Got around to this one at last, Linda. Too much on at the moment.
Like the rats, like the hair, I'd have probably stuck with the hooped leggings, colours are very vibrant and the patterning in the dress is interesting - reminds me of a Moire pattern.

This work work of mine is absolutely nothing at all to do with Those kinds of rats. No, not even in my artwork, would I glorify such scum.

This has a big conceptual feel to it, and the title outlines it for me.
Rats, not nice creatures, chilling when you are around them and there are alot of metaphorical rats in the population...

I'm still drained. But the insomnia is back, so when I got to sleep finally, it was getting light out; then I woke maybe three hours later and have been up ever since, draaaaging, wanting to sleep, but can't. I'm going to try to force myself to stay awake, and just go to bed early, to try and get back on a normal schedule again.

I looked them up on google, and I believe they are river rats. I recall, twice during my child-hood, seeing a dead one along the banks of the river, near where I lived. I couldn't get over how huge they were. I remember thinking at the time, that they looked the same size as a medium dog. ( And that I was glad I hadn't encountered it alive
I think rats gets a bad rep, though. Which I don't feel they deserve at all. We are being over-run by them, however, and their populations need to be constantly controlled; for the sake of health.
But they're intelligent animals; and loving, too. Tho I'd never get close to a wild one, like this. But these particular rats in the picture, appear to be somewhat domesticated; that is to say, they seem very comfortable around people, - and people, obviously comfortable around them. (When a child is not frightened,... that tells you a lot) .
