It's amazing that those simple words, have the ability to be turned around to suit what's happening in your personal situation. Wonderful Linda, I love it!

!! Or just trying to write a "story" at all using only six words. Not just a thought, but a story. Maybe give it a try during your convalescence. If you enjoy thinking, and are in need of a pass-time that doesn't require much effort on your body, this might be it.
Thanks for commenting, Bev!! !!!

Yes I love doing those too, I haven't for a while though.
Funny thing when I saw your Kaiku's, it was like de ja vu. The first time I knew about Haiku was in a NZ film we watch just a few days ago, called "The Hunt for the Wilderpeople". It won a lot of awards, and was great movie if you get a chance to see it. It was also exclusively filmed using just one camera! Anyway, the boy in the film wrote Haiku to get his feelings out, and of course I was interested enough to do some research on it, then I saw your wonderful poems the other day.
Oh yes I am definitely a thinker, a learner and love to do things that challenge the brain. One thing I do is when I'm reading and don't know the meaning of a word, I stop and research it, then write it in the back of the book lol. I have notes on all kinds of different subjects, meanings, origins you name it Stephen Hawking is next on my list of to buy books.
Six word stories really hones the 'to the point' theory, and gives much thought. Thanks for sharing them, I really enjoyed reading yours. !!!

That's a great idea the boy had to write Haiku to, "get his Feelings out". I mean, that is what poetry is about... but with Haiku, because of the construct, I imagine it forced him to really 'zero in' on the gist of those feelings... in order to pin-point them as best he could in Haiku! That's not easy; especially with a young person, still searching out their inner selves.. We are typically driven at that age (through frustration) to say more, not less. !!
lol In my teens when I was stoked to write my feelings as best I could with as few words to describe a mass of feelings... I would randomly flip through the dictionary and find words I'd never heard before and write them down and memorize them.
I too if I'm reading something and come across words I've never heard before I will look them up also in order to understand. But I'll admit, not allll the time do I do this. It depends on my overall interest. But if I'm conversing with someone especially, I want to understand (clearly) their full thoughts so I will look it up. In person if it happens and I don't understand I'll generally let them know I'm not familiar with that word and have them explain.
Nice choice, "Stephen Hawking"!! !! That should be interesting I bet!
You bet, Bev! (regarding six word stories)! !!

Yes it is, especially for kids going through trauma in their lives and you're right, it helped him to zero in on those feelings inside.
Lol, you and I are alike in that respect then, cool I'm not the only word nerd, lol
Yes I love a good solid intelligent conversation with someone, about anything and everything lol, but like you I'm the same too! I was never allowed to say much as a child, so I would turn to books and talk out loud, and think out loud and study everything I could, I'm still like that.
Aw thanks, I'm looking forward to getting it soon, too many other things that need 'getting' first lol. I'll let you know when I get it
Aww I'm not in the right head space at the moment, but I will thanks sweetheart

I've always been one to speak my mind, even as a child... Of course, my mother never stopped me from doing so. .. I'm so sorry that was done to you, Bev. ! Makes me very angry that some adults are like that with children.

That is really wonderful, because your mom encouraged your personality to come through !!! I'm not a talker in general because most of the time I was talked over, so I believed what I had to say wasn't important so I just went inside myself. Anyway, yes I vowed never to be like my mother/father was when I had a child, and I'm proud of myself for that.

Yeah, she really did... I think from time to time how fortunate I am about that, actually.... how different things could have been for me today had she been a different type person..
... I'm glad you mom wasn't able to squelch your spirit... That you still were able to go on and grow... both mentally and spiritually. !!!

Well I don't think so much about how fortunate you were about that, that's something I feel is a given when you're a parent. You nurture the traits your child has, not silence them...just my take hun, but yes fortunate in the sense that if she had been different, how different you might be too.
Oh she tried, but I'm a fighter too and pretty resilient with a little bit of rebel in the mix...to her that was the confidence she lacked, so hence the distance I felt. Thanks Linda, I really appreciate that my friend !!!

I guess... I feel now... that I took it all for granted, back then, (based on what you've just said).. It 'should' be a "given"; but unfortunately, and I see it more than ever today, many parents just don't properly nurture their kids. Maybe they don't know how... they didn't get it either? I don't know. But I honestly feel worried for the future of many.. This is getting to be a cold world. (emotionally)
LOL Somehow, I can't picture you being a hard time for anyone, Bev. (just goes to prove, it's in our choice how we treat people... choosing to be a 'good' person; and to be seen in a particular light.. such as how you are here on DeviantArt with your friends But don't anyone get it twisted - or they soon find out the Truth; and just what real Strength is!!
)
As a child... I was very wild by nature. The Puerto Rican lady down stairs said once (I over heard) that I was "uncivilized". And my Grandfather said on a different occasion that "I needed a distemper shot".
Yet. through all of that,... I cant really say that I ever "rebelled". Though I bet thinking about it now, the adults may have saw it that way. I don't know... I think my own mind saw it as simply Me, asserting my own individuality. I never really thought about it until now, but... I believe as a kid, I saw myself as equal to adults. LOL Omg, what a realization to come to!
But thinking about it further... I could very well see myself teaching my own kids to Be that way too.... understanding, of course, that some things they had to take orders from adults for... (That last bit, I always just seemed instinctively understoodm myself... humm...
Listen to me babbling on Sorry Bev!
As for your mom... that lack of confidence she had in her self.. She should have allowed for You - to rub off on Her. (it probably never occurred to her that possibility, even) Kids... they Can teach us things. In fact they can teach us Plenty. !!!!

Exactly! She's a complete fake from the Start; using a deliberately chosen love starved man as means for personal gain; a man who, is So starved for true love, he is emotionally diabetic. So with her sugary words (yet contradicting actions) she moves forward with her plan..saturating him with her sugar... destroying him slowly, with confusion. from the inside out.

Oooo man, I got this so wrong, I felt he was the one sucking her in for personal gain, when he was incapable of real love for her.
Shows where I've been....
Mind you, that's poetry right? Or art. We see what we want to see...
It's still a great job Linda, all the more so now it has "angles"..
