Description
This guide displays the naturals dillutions we can find in any horse breed.
These were imported to the Lindeza after years of selective breeding.
T H E B A S E C O A T S
Every horse have two alleles in their genotypes, being ee and aa, depending on their dominance, the foal can have some chances to express one of these.
Knowing that seal bay is a modification of a regular bay, made possible with the t gene.
A horse can carry this seal gene without expressing it
Ex:
- EE Ata : Black (seal carrier)
- EE AAt : Bay (seal carrier)
The regular A will always be dominant on the At
T H E D I L U T I O N S
All dilutions are expressed on all the possible basecoals
(except pangare)
Please remember that this is only an example of the possible expressions, we encourage you to look online and find all the possible outcomes.
In case of a horse not expressing a gene due to its basecoat, Like flaxen on bay or pangare on black, the gene would be carrier.
Meaning it could still be passed down to the offsprings.
Dilutions can be combined and, as their name implies, would never make the coat darker.
Some dilutions affect the mule's eye color:
Double cream: Blue eyes
Champagne: Hazel eyes (light brown)
Pearl: Green eyes (even if carrier)
