Description Figured that I'd test out Windows 7 since it was an open Beta.

So far I'm fairly impressed with it. It seems to be a lot faster than Vista.

Looks alright. I hope the final version does prove to be better than Vista.

No actually. I think Vista was actually Windows 6.

vista is truly 6
XP was 5.2 or somthing, windows 2000 was 5.1 and NT was 5 (a little odd dont you think?)

and Windows 7 is curently marked as 6.1 somthing... so tell me why its not 5.4 and Vista isnt 5.3 seeing as THERE ALL BASED OFF OF NT?!

Really? I've read that the Vista kernel was basically the same as the Windows 7 kernel, meaning little, if any differences whatsoever.

Programming on other things, not just the Kernel.

What about compatibility issues and such? Vista has a knack for fucking with third party software. Either making it not work properly -- or not at all.

Vista was also funny because it looks so much like KDE and this one, even more so. lol

Well at least this time -- Microsoft isn't stealing ideas, they are using ones that are open sourced. lol

There is even a Suse-based Distro called "Microsoft Linux" and they partnered with Novell to do it. I have a devination with the box cover for it and an article about it pasted in the details section, etc..

Haven't tested it with many 3rd party programs yet.

Vista is about at SP2, so a lot of the problems have mostly been fixed.

All I can say is -- I'll beleive it when I see it!

Even if they eliminated all those issues -- Windows is an issue all its own. lol

This is why I am mostly on Linux. Windows is the only OS that has the spyware problems and all that garbage. Which is also why -- though I have nothing against MAC as a platform -- I hate their misleading commercials that make it seem as if Windows is ALL that can run on a PC!

Besides, isn't a MAC a PC? If its not a PERSONAL COMPUTER then what it is? A Personal Sextoy? lol
