So I have taken all your 15 lessons and have put them into a word document I put them in boxes with the English/mando and as well I am making a box for the pronunciations as well. I have added a few things and right now I am at 45 pages worth with all the pronunciations. If anyone would like I can email a whole copy when I have completed. Let me know if enough people want it I would be happy to help others out.

I've started teaching Mando'a to a small group of people on the Star Wars Gamer's group on Steam. I base some of what I do off of your lessons here, but of course I use the mando'a dictionary for a lot of it as well since I teach it verbally as well (so pronunciation matters) Anyways, thank you for creating these helpful guides.

Could you add the pronunciation of the words to the lesson groups? That way one can read it properly and later, speak it properly rather than just typing?

Linzero In reply to Speciesunkn0wn [2014-08-11 23:05:44 +0000 UTC]

I don't have any plans at this time to add a pronunciation guide, sorry.  Maybe in the future.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Linzero In reply to sop56 [2014-06-03 01:41:40 +0000 UTC]

It's the verb "to see".  There wasn't a verb for reading or taking a look, so I kinda misused it.  Gotta work with what we've got.  ^_^

Sorry, if you need more then just "fave"ing the lesson, you'll have to cut and paste it - I don't have it available for download.

Thank god you created this. The dictionary is good for translations but like any other two language dictionary, it's just too confusing for me to learn.
Luckily though, you invented this, something i can learn from! My mind just can't wrap around so many words all bunched together. But this? This is something i can learn from! Thank you again!

Linzero In reply to mandmrulez [2013-07-11 02:36:22 +0000 UTC]

You're very welcome. I can't learn a language by reading a dictionary either, and I'm always glad to hear someone else is getting a use out of these lessons. ^_^

Su'cuy! I have read the RepCom books and consider myself mando in all sense out of anything in the SW realm, and I aspire to be a part of the Mandalorian Mercs one of these days! Though I have lost touch with the language, because of school and other things, I have decided I want to get back into the swing of things again, so thank you for having these lessons up here! It is a very nice reference and you have done a great job of it! Ret'urcye mhi!

Have you tried picking apart the words for the literal meaning? It's quite fun!
For example: Darjetii - technically means Sith, but when pulled apart, it literally means 'not Jedi' or 'no longer Jedi'.

I do, and I have that as well. But I'd rather teach myself a language with a lesson plan, than just by reading a dictionary. ^_~ It's just the way my brain works.
