Description Victoria Beckham, another illustration brief from college. We were asked to do two A3 celebrity portraits. Two people who had to be alive at the time and that had to be quite opposite to each other.

So my other portrait was of Muhammad Ali.

Acrylics on Acrylic paper touched up with gouache.

Yeah, my lecturers were chuffed to bits with it cause I just turned up with it. They didn't see the process so when the deadline came up they were relieved to tell me that they thought that I had chosen "Posh's Look".

Thanks

Thankyou, it's actually one of the illustrations I've done that I enjoy the most. It's funny, when I painted this my classmates at college had nothing but negetive things to say about Victoria Beckham. I've always had a bit of a soft spot, relate to her in some way. I see her as quite a vulnerable person though I am quite critical of some of her lifestyle choices.

I like doing celebrity portraits but find it flat insofar as it's pretty cold not having personal contact. Only paint them as I see them through the media so there's no real human reward.

Intentionally overplayed the detail on her upper body. My photo references all had her under quite severe lighting and I thought it would emphasize the image that she is subjected to a lot of harsh media attention (especially where her weight is concerned). Her left elbow and her left armpit could however have done with a bit more attention but I ran out of time on the brief. I could try fixing it but I'd prolly end up overworking it.

Wow, lin...that's really seckzay I'm serious, that's some wicked painting skills there ^.^ She looks very real and very attractive, and everything, from the anatomy to the details, is for the most part accurate--and it's hard to beat her figure One thing I notice is that in some areas, her skin tone looks a little too dark and intense, but I never really paid much attention to the Spice Girls when they were around, so I don't really have a good idea of what the girl looks like to compare to, but I'd say that otherwise it's fairly accurate. The face and hand are exceptionally well done, with the very small details not smudged up or lost, which takes a lot of talent to get right in paintings. Really nice work, linz I think that this is some of your best work yet. Keep it up, you'll get the attention you deserve yet!

lol, cool. dont see much of spice girl anything lately. nice drawing, though the arm thats coming down and touching her thigh seems a bit strange at the elbow. maybe its that line. just something to consider next time :F

Awesome colouring, to be sure. Anatomy is killer, too... though I would recommend a little ~less~ detail onher upper body. Too much definition, in my opinion. But that's just me. Like the understated cameras, too.
