Perhaps, that gutshot acted as wakeup call although Max took this match very seriously. After getting back, Max regained composure and stared back at her. Without hesitation, Raiden dashed in blink of eyes.

(Fast!) Max murmured right before blocking her powerful hook with his forearms. "Tch!"

From there, she unleashed flurry of hooks and straights followed by occassionaly haymaker to end this match. Max sharpened his eyes and read each of her movement and avoided and blocked her attacks with minimal movement as much as possible. Still, Raiden Ei hit like a truck with her immense speed. She was wearing his arms down. Her gloves started making marks on his arms. Max realized that he had to trade blows. She wasn't giving any room for him to land any meaningful hit. But, this was still within his training. It was just that it was easier said than done. He couldn't keep up this pace. He gritted his teeth, tanked her punch and countered with his own hook!

"Ugh!" Max groaned, but kept his sight on her.

"Hnnng!" Raiden also groaned, but she took more damage as her own momentum was used against her.

The crowds gasped as the foreign challenger finally landed in this match. It looked like flow of the match changed. She totally lost her aggressive pace. Fortunately, the bell saved her right at time, and Max missed chance to pursue her further. But, this still gave him hope that he could turn the tide of this match. When both of them returned to their respective corners and rested, both of them looked equally tired.... it only got more brutal and intense from there. With each round, they dished out more dangerous punches while sacrificing defense. Max also managed to wear her arms down, so she could barely defend herself with her arms. With their defense weakened, both boxers focused more on offense. Eventually, it became slugfest as neither of them wanted to be on receiving end. It was said that best defense is defense afterall... At around round 6, Max's left eye got swollen, making it hard for him to register her punches. He relied purely on his reflex and instinct, countering everytime she landed her gloves. Max was barely edging out and holding himself together with willpower. At this point, both of them were covered in blood and bruise. It looked like the match could go end in either outcome in any second! After taking one last straight from her, Max grinned and struck right back.

"Guh!"

Ei's head turned 180 degree, spraying cloud of saliva and blood on the mat. Her eyes became blurry as her mouthpiece departed from her mouth. She quickly collapsed like a timber and kissed the mat. The referee rushed in, crossed his arms and ended the match.

'Ding Ding Ding'

"I... I won!" Max mumbled and slowly raised his glove.

The match ended in his victory. Although their leader lost, people of Inazuma clapped and cheered Max... they definitely enjoyed the match itself more than who would be the winner. Max jogged around the ring and greeted them back. Eventually, Ei opened her eyes and stood up.

"Impressive... I can't believe... someone would be able to stand up to me... well done, foreigner." She complimented and smiled at him. "I hope we have rematch... it will be different."

"Surely, it will. And, I will keep training!" Max smiled back and shook hand with her and hugged her to displace sportsmanship.

Max belongs to me.
