How would I go about doing some of this with a sewing machine?
I mean, there are, of course, parts that must be hand-sewn, but I'm a little bit pressed for time (I wanted to make my friend one of these for a birthday, since Tavros is her favorite troll), and hand-sewing takes a lot of time. I was wondering what parts would be okay to do with a machine.

You could sew the legs with a sewing machine. If you're very skilled with the machine you could possibly do like where the wavy lines are, but if you're not don't do that then. Also after you sewed all the notches and sewing the wavy lines together you could use the machine to sew it all together for the completed part. Overall you could basically do this all by machine if you're skilled, except for the notches, probably definitely have to do that by hand. Unless again you're skilled with the machine.

i think it would be ok. the sheets of felt are just a little less soft and stretchy as fleece. i would buy 2 sheets of red, 2 sheets of yellow, and 1 sheet of white. good luck! let me know how it turns out if you try it
