The clarity is really good. I like the color editing you did, I would have left the other green parts in color

... I have tried and tried to get this effect to work in photoshop and i just cant... so great work!

Here's how I did it.
1. Get a paintbrush....the best kind have fuzzy edges.
2. Use the color white
3. Set its blend mode to "hue"
4. Then paint with the brush in the areas you want to be b&w, the color will be erased.
I'm sure there's easier ways out there, but this is the method I found to be most effective.

hey many thanks.. i took those steps and played with the different tools a bit..I found putting the color to black and setting it to saturation made a deeper black and white feel... and got my latest piece.. i think it came out pretty good...

Well, it gets me through school...gives me a sense of purpose, I suppose. Actually, I believe the fact that someone (Caleb) actually BOUGHT me a camera contributes to the evolution...it's hard to practice if you don't have an instrument. But thank you, I'm glad to see that I'm getting better.
