It's me!!! =O Yes that is more or less what I look like. Not bad for only 4 months of digital painting. I'm getting better.I made this for Roxanne74's contest- [link]
Fairy ref- This is the only stock I used as reference . No other outside references were used.
Model reference is myself.
I created some textures on the skin and background from my own resources to save time, but other than that everything else is painted by hand.

This is not a photo-manipulation or an over-paint. Nor was it traced. It is a digital painting painstakingly painted over the course of 2 weeks.

holy crap.. I really liked the piece that one, but if I am truly honest I think yours should have. Certainly place higher then a tie for third, just goes to show how subjective art is. A beautiful piece,

Yeah, one thing that set mine apart was the fact that is wasn't a manipulation. But meh, in the end it's based on how cool it looks, not always how skillful you are.

I think what makes my art decent is my solid foundation in figure drawing and knowledge of how light works. It made the transition from traditional to digital much easier because I could already draw. I would say work on anatomy. Drawing portraits did wonders for me.
