This is based on a DREAM.
Here's Vera and Piper, as teenagers!
Vera was born human of course, birth name is Verena Lockhart.
They really met as adults, but I’ll explain more below

As you guys know, Vera entered the underworld as a child and was placed on Krampus' naughty list.
She failed to change and since Krampus' young son Nergal had a crush on her, her life was spared.
But the catch was she was forced to marry Nergal when they grew up.

She spent most of her childhood in Hell, and never saw her real family again.
Vera never had a choice, so she often wishes as an adult that she could redo things.

She often has dreams of how she wishes things went, and that she met Piper earlier in her life.
Nergal always treated her badly, and she never had a real friend, so she was quite lonely.

Piper truly is the light of her life, and even though she doesn't regret having children with Nergal (because she loves her daughters), having Piper's support during the years would've DEFIANTLY made Vera a different person than she is today.
But sadly a lot of damage is already done.
