This commission was a lot of fun. I was asked to depict the moment when Megatron becomes Galvatron in the original Transformers movie ( and one of my favoritemoments!).
This is a tricky thing to show, having both Megatron and Galvatron in the same static shot, since they're essentially the same character. But the idea I had was to show Galvatron almost "shedding" the shell that was Megatron, and having his debris litter the space around him.

I was looking thru some of my old favorites and stumbled upon this most awesome Galvatron. It is now my lock screen pic on my iPhone. Absolutely one of the coolest pics of one of my favorite Cons.

Megatron is no more. In his place stand something even more terrifying...and dangerous; GALVITRON!
Tis a VERY cool picture here. I like the lighting, shadow, and shading effects going on here. Also cool to see Megatron's old "shell" being cast off with some recognizable parts; namely his cannon and his chestplace with the Decepticon logo on it.

Nice work. Who cares if IDW Megatron and Galvatron aren't the same person, this still rocks and it's awesome that IDW used it as a cover. It's a shame that the art within the comic wasn't this good.

I recall you saying you weren't sure how they might print out... seems like it prints a bit darker than the original? And this version is much more crisp... I'll look at it in store and let you know for sure.

Yep, a version of this will be the cover for HOD #4. Sometimes it's really just guess work figuring out what it might look like when it's finally on the printed page. Here's hoping it looks as good as it can

ASs they are to me, i looked over different transformer groups and with each one i got more annoyed (don't even want to talk about all that gay shit, no offence,isn;t thrtr a group with only G!?
Anyway i've gothe first issue that came out in dutch and the optimus on the cover is similar in someways wirh your coloured ones, reallt breathtaking.
O sill must take a peek into the rest of your art, but i'm sure i won't be disappointed...

Megatron becoming Galvatron was quite the scene in the animated movie. This work with Megatron's remains makes it more wonderfully dramatic. Outstanding.

Thanks. I don't mind Galvatron, I think he's definitely the best new character from the G1 film. But I do like Megatron too, so there's the conflict!
