"Meow-ster? Welcome home-- Lady Keida?" Lyger burred seeing her curled up in Fenrir's arms as he carefully and awkwardly opened the front door.

"Shh... She's alright, just sleeping" Fenrir hushed quietly, Lyger purring calmly in relief before carefully helping Fenrir slip her boots off, "Let me just get her in bed then I'll come down and cook you dinner, yeah? And Lady Keida?". Lyger happily meowed and perched on the coffee table, an amused burr in response before Fenrir rolled his eyes and headed upstairs. Once again he carefully but awkwardly opened the bedroom door and made his way inside. As silently as he could, he moved across the room and slipped Keida onto the bed, pulling one of the furs over her to keep her warm. She let out a few small noises as she fidgeted and got comfy, but still didn't wake. Fenrir waited a few minutes to ensure she was asleep, huffing softly in relief when she remained still continuing to sleep peacefully. He quietly returned down stairs, Lyger purring loudly as he brushed against his master's hand that swooped in low for a long pat down his back, before following the blond to the kitchen, mentally noting the small smile contently curling the edges of his master's lips upward. Fenrir swiftly prepared and cooked for his companion, making sure to serve an extra healthy portion of the fine meat as a apology for being late, not that Lyger actually mind.

Fenrir didn't head to bed straight away after dinner, merely dealt with dishes before beginning to pack the basics into his satchels for tomorrow morning and checked over his weapon and armor. Satisfied with his packing and armor, he invited himself to check over her equipment himself, noting minor damage to her blade and a dodgy sharpening job. Fenrir sighed tiredly and prepped the bench in the armory as he gathered some whetstones and a damp cloth, carefully sharpening her blade correctly, examining carefully along its length. Fenrir checked over her gear after seeing the state of her weapon, relieved it was in mint condition. He set her weapon back into its scabbard and against the dummy that her armor was on and stretched his aching shoulders. He left for bed, ascending the stairs and smiled down the hall into Lyger's room, seeing the sleeping Felyne belly up on his bed, purring loudly with his full belly rising and falling with each loud rumble.

"Keida?" Fenrir whispered at a barely audible level as he clicked the door open, as he suspected, she didn't answer and he smiled in relief that he didn't actually wake her. He quickly changed out of his social attire and threw on the black slacks from earlier and carefully slid under his covers stealthily, leaving Keida undisturbed. She rolled away softly, freeing up a little more room for the blond which he happily took back. Slowly but surely he nestled down and got comfortable behind her once more, his eyes softening as he pulled the fur that little bit higher to her shoulders, unsurprised at the small, irritated noise she let out making him smirk.

"Giga's right... Today felt like she'd been our friend forever, that this was normal, that yesterday my life wasn't completely turned on it's head”, Fenrir thought as he continued to smirk as his eyes washed over the back over her, an uncomfortable level of relaxation and trust for Keida rushing through him, instinctively making him pull away from her and gently turn over, putting his back to her, "I don't like this...". He swallowed thickly against the lump forming in his throat, closing his eyes on the soft sounds of her content breathing, crossing his hand over his chest and pressed his palm against the solid slab of muscle over his heart, digging his nails into his skin angrily, "Never again... She's not safe with me...". He released his chest and let his hand lay where it fell and let a heavy breath slide from his lips, forcing his emotions down and suppressed the vortex that had begun brewing deep in the pit of his stomach, calming down enough for sleep to take hold.

Keida's dreams however, turned sour making the woman twist uncomfortably into the covers with a whimper as unsavory scenes and memories danced behind her closed eyes. The haunting memory of a shadowed figure yelling and lunging for her family scared her enough to jolt half awake from her slumber with a wince as she gasped. In moment she inhaled, she was flooded with the familiar scent of cinnamon, rose, and a mixed musk of salt and cologne.

"Stop... Stop!" Keida cried in her dream, shifting in her mind to put herself between the attacker and her family, her panic rising when she couldn't move, "Stop!... Please, Please!... Somebody!--" She begged with a hand outstretched. The familiar scent rushed through her again as she inhaled sharply, another figure suddenly glitching into her dreams, ahead of her, between the attacker and her family in her stead. His thick, blond quills of hair carving backwards from his forehead, fringe hung at the outer corner of his eye, that was almost touched by the corner of his lips from the smirk carved up his cheek. "Fenrir...?", without a word, the blond's ear twitched and he turned and looked at her and smiled warmly, the shadows that loomed over everything she saw vanishing like smoke in a hurricane, leaving only him before her. She willed herself to move, and this time, she could though her legs felt like lead and stumbled, Fenrir catching hold of her and steadying her against his chest.

"What are you doing here?" She whimpered against his collar bones, surprised at his gentle touch as one of his arms cradled her waist keeping her steady, the other stroking her hair as she felt his cheek press to the top of her head.

"What do you mean? You called me here, didn't you?", His reply shivering through her at the closeness of his voice and warmth of his body against hers. Her brow furrowed in confusion as she thought, she didn't- did she?. Her pondering cut short feeling his arm tighten around her, squeezing her flush against him making her press her palms to his chest.

"Fenrir what are you--!?" Keida froze as the hand on her head ghosted down to her jaw, his thumb effortlessly pivoting her chin up to look him in the eye, said aqua orbs glowing as he leant down, thumb ghosting up onto her bottom lip before kissing the back of his thumb over her lips. Pausing where he stood, his lips literally millimeters from hers, the shock, surprise and now rosy flush across her cheeks and nose, making him smile tenderly against his thumb.

"Always... All you need to do is call for me..." With that, he carefully drew away from her and let go, walking backwards as his hands slipped from her to vanish before her eyes.

Keida breathed in sharply as her body flung upward, sitting up panting hard, frantically touching her face and patted down her clothes as she focused on her surroundings. She almost instantly recognized Fenrir's room, looking at the fur bunched at her waist, the calm breathing just behind her shoulder making her head turn onto the sleeping man beside her. She instantly shot crimson at the sight of his glossed lips as he slept so peacefully, holding her breath as he gently rolled onto his back and tucked an arm behind his head under his pillow, his head lulling in her direction. She silently exhaled after he fell still and carefully shifted closer and inspected his face in closer detail, the small scars that littered his face and neck suddenly becoming so obvious, stunning her that she'd never noticed them before. She ghosted the small scars that faded through his eyebrow and over his eye to the top of his cheek carefully, an overwhelming sense of sorrow washing over her at the thought of not being able to protect him. She quickly blinked the thought away shaking her head slightly letting her eyes trail down his peacefully resting face to his lips, her heartbeat quickly filling her ears. Everything flashed through her head again as she stared at him through half lidded eyes, finding herself drawing closer to the sleeping blond, the warmth of his sleeping breaths now ghosting her lips.

"Freyja...." Fenrir whispered against her lips drawing Fenrir's jaw upward, chasing the warmth her breaths gave. She pulled away silently and almost instantly Fenrir's head rested back against the pillow, continuing to sleep, blissfully unaware of the confused and hurt girl beside him.

"Fenrir?". The soft voice drew his from his slumber, his consciousness stirring, but his eyes remained closed as he took in a deep breath.

                "Mmm? What's wrong?"

"I-... Bad dream.... Can't sleep..." Keida replied softly, not to hurt his tired ears, watching him shuffle slightly with another deep breath and hoarse groan.

"Try..." He replied exhausted, his free hand moving to his chest, weakly patting the thick barrel of muscle, "Here...". Keida hesitated. Did he mean for her to rest against his chest? Was he talking to her, or did he think she was 'Freyja'?. When his chest remained bare, Fenrir blindly patted beside him for her, searching the sheets softly with a tired groan, "Keida... C'mere". Her heart leapt into her throat as she called out to her, gently shuffling forward. Fenrir's hand retreated as he felt her move closer, relaxing as her cheek pressed to his bare chest above his heart and her hands tucked against his ribs under her chin. His free hand returned to his chest, pulling her hand to lay in the middle of his chest under his, pulling his arm out from under his pillow and carefully tucked his shoulder under her neck, draping his arm around her shoulders wrapping in her in close. Keida didn't struggle, gently letting him move her against his side, his heartbeat so calm and slow under her ear, completely unnerved by this at all, like he was used to it- to her. She rubbed her cheek against his warm skin getting comfortable, the blond's hand squeezing hers momentarily before he fell still again. Keida listened and smiled at his thunderous heartbeat and gentle breathing tickling her nose as it fluttered over her face. Finding her heartbeat and breaths slowly syncing up with his as she drifted off in his grip.

Fenrir woke just before dawn, the sun threatening to burst over the horizon at any moment, scanning his room wearily. He lifted his hand from his abdominals and rubbed his face gently with a groan and stretch, feeling fingers grip his chest and a body wriggle closer to him. He looked down blinking slowly as his vision came together, uttering in surprise at the girl clung to him. She laid against him exactly how they'd fallen asleep, not that he remembered inviting her onto his chest, eyeing her curiously and confused as he lifted his hand from around her waist and brushed her fringe aside, rousing a smile from her lips.

"Keida?" Fenrir breathed with a weak smile as she stirred slightly, her eyes slowly opening onto his chest rising and falling under her cheek. She looked up as her eyes focused on his face, a smirk curled up his cheek.

"Hey, umm, how'd you sleep?" She asked, quickly pulling away from him and sat up, fixing her shirt tightly around her collarbones, looking anywhere but at him.

"Yeah... Well, how about you? After you know, your bad dream?" He replied, not even trying to fight to keep her against him, suppressing a shiver though, as her warmth suddenly left.

"I slept well... Really well... Thank you"

"Why? What are you thanking me for?"

"Because you saved me, actually". He sat up curiously and studied her intently as she smiled weakly, concern haunting the back of his eyes.

"Saved you how? Are you alright?" He asked, revealing a little more emotion in his voice than he'd have liked, glancing away as he forced himself to stay distant from her.

"Yeah, I'm fine... Just a bad dream that you set right, that's all..." She blushed smiling sweetly before getting out of bed and headed down stairs for breakfast, leaving Fenrir sitting on his bed to hear her greet Lyger loudly and warmly. He simply sat there and listened, wanting to smile, but every time he went to his lips merely trembled and his chest hurt.

"Meow-ster? Are you joining us for breakfast?" Lyger purred from the stairs and Fenrir stood in a heartbeat.

"Yes, Lyger, I'll be down shortly... Boil the kettle for me, would you?" He said as naturally as he could, the burr he heard from the stairs relieved him, knowing the Felyne had return to the happy girl down stairs. He took a few more moments to collect himself, forcing his thoughts straight- Business mode- no distractions. He was soon joining Lyger in the kitchen as he pulled on the last of his under armor, pouring a cup of tea and took a long and satisfying drag from the cup as he made his way out the front and attached a small insignia to a messenger bird. Fenrir removed the bird's thick, leather helmet and smiled as it stretched its wings, giving them a few test flaps as it properly woke up, "Go get Giga for me, friend". The falcon like bird chattered attentively before taking off from its perch up high, circling higher before vanishing overhead to complete its task.

"Keida is making buurrr-eakfast, she wants to know if she's cooking furr you also meow-ster" Lyger purred from back inside. Again, Fenrir wanted to smile but only found himself swallowing another lump and huffed returning inside, closing the door behind him.

"What cha' cookin' Keida?" Fenrir asked flatly before taking another sip from his mug, choking when she happily appeared before him, his apron on with a pan in hand full of already sizzling meats and sautéing mushrooms.

"Just a fry up, the eggs are in the other pan" She replied warmly as Fenrir wiped his chin.

"How did you get everything so quick?"

"Lyger was showing my yesterday morning before Giga came knocking" She said looking at him like the answer was obvious, Fenrir looking at the Felyne like he was a trator.

"She wanted to know, why not tell h-uurrr, nya?" He purred warmly at the blond, Fenrir's jaw clenching for a moment- Kinda' hard to argue with that.

"I'll leave chores to you, if it bothers you that much, I just thought it would be nice to show my appreciation for what you're doing for me"

"What? No that's not-" Fenrir paused as he looked back at her, Keida's fake smile once again on her face, "Do as you like, Keida. This is your home now too...". Keida hesitated at his request, eyes downcast to the sizzles from the pan that softening as the metal beneath began to cool. The growing silence was heavy and awkward on both parties as Lyger looked between Fenrir and Keida, chattering softly in worry.

                "Meow-ster-?"

"Can I be honest with you?" Fenrir asked plainly, stuffing his free hand into his pocket as he lifted his eyes from his tea to her silent, curious stare, "I hate mushrooms...". Keida was surprised as she simply blinked at him, her face becoming void of emotion for a moment before she slowly began to giggle, her giggle becoming a loud belly laugh, "What's so funny?"

"Me too", She replied through her laughter, as tears welled in the corners of her eyes, wiping them with the back of her hand as she continued to chuckle. Fenrir smiled at her real laughter, that vice like ache retching his heart before he too, began to laugh. Lyger sat and watched calmly, smiling softly as Fenrir and Keida both stood in a fit of laughter together, taking the pan off her and took it upon himself to finish breakfast; Without mushrooms.
