Description
Romance: Digital StyleOh sweet Thanatos, why do you keep me chained to the shores of torment?
Eternally waiting for the luckless reply of hapless love?
What makes you my ill-advised aide in seeing
Love and death as bedfellows of my pain?
And yet here I stand, with you as my guide,
Forever fated to return,
As the maiden waits in the silence for her lost love,
I wait for my dues of desolation and despondency.
I yield to your temptation, sweet Thanatos,
Amongst the graveyards of shame and iniquity,
Where my lady and I fooled ourselves to heroism
And dreamed ourselves to a better world.
In the sugar coated hills of liberty,
Where a kiss is but a word on a page,
Here you have lead me,
In vain hope of bold reconciliation.
Am I but a shadow of man?
Have you given me a vision of equality,
Where the gentleman and the mistress are but the same?
Oh sweet Thanatos, in your eternal drive of delay
There is but one escape from your influence.
Escape? Say you? Ha! There is but nothing in your egress but the empty image of your return!
Then, sweet Thanatos, your image is incomplete,
For I hear my lady calling.
