Description
Blank: [link]Okay so I DID A THING... and I edited it slightly. First of all, added more space; some characters broke the scale a few times... @v@;;
NOW... To read it, basically their position (left, right, middle) determines to what degree they match the category above. Characters directly in the middle can be considered either neutral or unbiased.
Extra:
Characters
- Alton:
- - My first little sociopath...! He was more of an experiment with personality than anything else, but good golly what a FUN character! He's definitely very close to my heart. Love this character to death. @v@
Tristain:
- - My little baby, covered in blue arrows!! Gosh! Then again, he's about 4 years old (not to mention he's 12 years old in-character) so he's had tons of growth. He's been through some hard times, but nice people are helping him grow...!
Anon:
- - One of my newer characters! He's about a year old (just a little bit over) by now and has already had a ton of growth. Before now, he would actually be much closer to Alton's places on the chart.
Reed:
- - My newest character! Reshiram. Figured I'd add him in, too. Not much to say.
Vardan:
- - My other baby! He's under a year old, still, 8 months by now, almost 9. This is his in-character age, really. He's my main character in Guild Wars 2. He's a Sylvari Elementalist (mage). Sylvari are basically the "elvin race" of Guild Wars; one with nature (literally) they are born from a special tree. They're a brand new race (literally; they've existed in the canon lore for only about 25 years).
But despite being an MMO character, I've fleshed him out a lot. I just adore him so much...!
- Sex:
- Vardan: Really the only one that needs explaining!
Sylvari are all born from the same tree (they're literally all siblings); they don't reproduce themselves, so I see them all as sexless, however they do adopt feminine or masculine appearances & roles! Vardan has fallen into a male gender role.
Gender:
- Reed: It/he/she percieves itself as Third-Gendered; in other words, he doesn't think of himself as either female or male. She actually tends to ignore it or simply just not care.
Tristain: Gender has never been a thing for him. He has trouble telling "girly" things apart from "boyish" things and difficulty understanding differences (other than the physical aspect) between girls & guys. He's starting to pick up on these things, however, and beginning to lean more towards acknowledging himself in this way.
Build:
- Tristain: He's been malnourished for most of his life. Couple that with minimal exercise, and you've got a tiny individual. He's still very light, but he's been (quickly) becoming healthier for a couple years.
Anon: Well... What to say. He's dead, so he's definitely has got... very little substance to him. =v=
Alton: He's got a very slim figure, very effeminite. It's not always very clear and there's been a running joke about him where people think he's a chick at first... =v=
Vardan: He's getting around more, and his body's constantly learning to cope with all the traveling and fighting he's done. He's definitely on the slim side, but he's developing some more.
Reed: Ever see a Reshiram? They're little fatty fluffballs.
Height: - Just about everyone's grown into their max height... Tristain's got a lot to grow, still, though.
Handedness: - X
Physical Ability:
- Tristain: A little fellow, eh? His physique is very pathetic. He doesn't have much of either strength OR endurance.
Vardan: He's not very strong, physically! While he does fight, he's a mage, so no swords swung or bows fired. He's a great runner and swimmer, plenty of endurance under his belt.
Alton: All-around average fellow. Fairly low endurance, but decent strength.
Anon: He's much stronger than he appears...! Giga Impact should be proof enough.
Reed: Legendaries have all the strength, please.
Intelligence (Scholarly):
- Tristain: He's very bright, but he's not very smart about things in general. He's a quick learner, however!
Reed: Smarts aren't really his forte`, but he's definitely not stupid.
Anon: Surprisingly lower on the scale than I'd thought he'd be originally! He's just rather... above-average, I suppose. He's got tons of time to think to himself...
Vardan: Smart as a whip! He's got a very great understanding of the world around him already, and he's hardly a year old. He's quick-witted and very clever, too; he's another fast learner.
Alton: Meant to be a genius, Alton's one of my smartest characters. Eh, take that back--he is my smartest character. It's almost difficult to play, sometimes. His level of thinking is just so high for me...
Wisdom, Cleverness:
- Reed: Old age doesn't always make you wise and clever. The more you learn from mistakes, the wiser you are. Old Reed hardly views anything he does as mistakes. In fact, he hardly muses about his past experiences much at all. He's really more of a "do-er" than a thinker.
Anon: Another surprise for me! I gave it some thought and I figured: what the heck, he's not very clever, is he? He's not very wise, either. He's just pretty... smart.
-tied-
Alton, Vardan, & Tristain: Basically.... they're all very quick thinkers. Cleverness is a strong point in each character's make up. It was hard to think who'd out-trump whom in this single category.
Education Level:
- Vardan: He's never attended any kind of school ever. He learns by doing and discussing, really.
Tristain: No real schooling yet! His "family" is trying to get him caught up so he may eventually attend school.
Reed: Some, not a lot. He's mainly just sat-in on some lectures by philosophers and pronounced geniuses.
Alton: He's had a little bit of grade schooling, but started ditching and eventually dropped out altogether, teaching himself in private.
Anon: Before he died, Anon (aka. Vincent) was a college grad. Went through all four years with decent grades, too (A's, mostly B's, some C's).
Social Ability:
- Alton: He doesn't like people, people don't like him, it just sort of... happens.
Anon: He's a lot better than before! He used to be down with Alton on the very end. He doesn't very often understand how to handle social situations and still prefers to be secluded from public.
Tristain: People scare the hell outta' him. He's getting a little bit better, but they still stress him out insanely bad.
Reed: And here he is on the other side. Reed likes people! He loves to talk and interact with anyone, just about.
Vardan: What a people-plant! Public places energize him and creates one enthusiastic little plant. He can still appreciate solitude, but he much prefers a friend to being alone--be it human, Sylvari, animal, or what have you.
Perceptiveness (of other's emotions):
- Reed: Again... not that clever. Things will have to be painfully obvious for them to register for Reed.
Anon & Alton: These two... They typically seem lower on the scale, but half the time they just don't care enough to acknowledge some others' emotions.
Vardan: He used to be so naive when he was younger. He's starting to understand that things aren't always rainbows and sunshine, and now that he realizes this, he notices things easier.
Tristain: Whether you're sad, happy, stressed, or whatever, there's a chance Tristain will know before you've noticed yourself. He's strongly affected by other people's emotions.
Readability (other people reading them):
- Alton: He is very private and purposely makes himself hard to read.
Anon: He's slowly getting used to expressing his feelings more. He still acts like a rock sometimes.
Vardan: Vardan used to be open book, but as he traveled he became more restrained.
Tristain: He is very easy to read. He doesn't think he is, but the more you spend time with the easier it is to tell what he's thinking.
Reed: He's a big ball of fluff and can't hide nothin' from nobody. Even if he wanted to.
Intro/Extrovert:
- Alton: He's a hermit. Not much more to say. >v>;
Anon: He likes to keep private affairs private and keep his emotions to himself or with the closest people to him. He does not usually tackle the day head-on
Tristain: He tends to keep to himself and his best friend, but he is starting to become a little more extroverted
Reed: Rather average.
Vardan: He is the most extroverted soul on the whole planet....
Gender Appearance:
- Vardan: He usually appears girly because of his light colors and slim figure.
Alton: Alton is meant to be androgynous. Fair skin, silky hair, a slim build...
Tristain: Tristain appears to be androgynous mainly (all that hair) but he appears rather boyish in his dress.
Reed: Reed tends to dress more comfortably and, as such, tends to look more manly.
Anon: He... look like a dude.
Sexuality:
- Reed & Vardan: These two are tied, however they're not the same. Reed is pansexual. Vardan is demisexual. Both tend to be "gender-blind" when it comes to relationships.
Alton & Anon: They are considerably harder to pinpoint here.
Alton... actually I don't really know what he is (and neither does he so that's that) although I feel like he would be somewhere between asexuality and bisexuality if I had to nudge him near a category. (To be frank; he's so fucked up I'm surprised he's not lying in a ditch.) The 'relationships' in his past might nudge him more towards homosexuality/-romanticism, however.
Anon is... somewhat wish-washy, too. He's much harder to explain, although I fell I can safely say he's homosexual.
Tristain: This is my only character where I will say "he is gay." All the others (currently active) aren't so clear-cut (unless they're straight) as I may portray them to be.
Romanticism:
- Anon & Vardan: They are definitely biromantic. It's not so overt with Anon as it is Vardan.
Tristain & Reed: They have really basic tastes in romanticism.
Alton: Ain't nobody got time for that shit.
Romantic?:
- Vardan & Alton: They really have no idea HOW to be romantic and, for the most part, don't really care for it.
Reed: I accidentally left him off of a few, I guess. (:c) Oh well, he'd be smack in the middle, anyways.
Anon: He likes to do nice things for his husband and such. Spontaneous gifts, dinner, dates, etc. He's not really the kind to go all-out, but he still does an impressive job if he feels like it.
Tristain: Even though he's tied with Anon, Tristain is very different than him in this category. He's really much more of a dreamer. He'll spend half the day just fantasizing about romantic situations.
Affection?:
- Alton: He's got a deep-seeded fear of physical contact with other people. Too much of it and he'll just dive straight into a panic attack (and likely pass out if not left alone).
Vardan: He's (surprisingly) moderate when dealing with affection. He's learned that not everybody appreciates any touch without warning.
Anon: Not much to say. He's rather average, although he can get very shy when in public.
Tristain: If he likes you, be prepared for all the snuggles.... Sometimes he'll even give people little kisses, but only if you're ok to him.
Disposition (outwardly)?:
- Alton: Initial thought: "Antisocial, Sociopathic Hermit"
Anon: He doesn't really smile when he's thinking about things... And he thinks a lot.
Tristain: He mostly seems kind because of his timid nature. Other than that, there's not a whole lot to read.
Reed: He's a big ball of PUFF. How is that intimidating at all??
Vardan: Everything he does exudes "nice guy" so there's really no other way to think of him. Unless you're one of those "what does he want" sort of folks.
Disposition (internally):
- Alton: Secondary thought: "Antisocial, Sociopathic Hermit"
Anon: Anyone who talks to Anon will realize that he's not so cold-hearted as he looks. He really is a nice guy.
Tristain: Sweetest little baby~
Reed: Being a ball of fluff normally makes your inner self a ball of fluff.
Vardan: Take the "nice guy" attitude then multiply it by god and you've got Vardan. He's seriously one of the purest, most sincere, kind-hearted characters you'd ever meet.
Petty?:
- Alton: He has nice things. He likes his nice things. Including himself. Insult or damage anything he likes and you will have a little bitch on your hands for a few days. If you can stand being around him for that long.
Anon: So-so; just as petty as the next average Joe.
Reed & Vardan: I honestly doubt they even know what "petty" means.....
Tristain: He grew up on the lesson that he was not entitled to anything and that everyone else had more of a right to any basic resource or luxury than he did. He actually has very few personal possessions: a few outfits (say 3-5), a stuffed bear, and a stuffed dog. Anything else that is "his" is not his in Tristain's mind.
Sane?:
- Alton: Ha. Haha. Hahahahaha..... Yeah........ He's got a fe--... a lot of issues.
Anon: He hears dead people. You really can't be all that sane when you've got voices whispering in your head from time to time. He's getting better at blocking them out, however.
Tristain: He used to be a bit lower, actually! It wasn't until about... a year & 1/2 ago, maybe that he started moving right. Can't blame him, though. He's grown up living with constant fear and dread.
Reed & Vardan: They've got no reasons to worry! Everything is totally fine for them.
Friendliness:
- Alton: He... doesn't... like making friends and typically discourages people from attempting to establish relationships. Unless he's really lonely (eventually that happens with anyone).
Anon: He's getting used to people, still. Friendliness isn't something you pick up quickly after avoiding them for years.
Tristain: Strangers scare the crap outta' him. You really have to do something drastic to gain his trust or be as pathetic as he is.
Reed: Friends! Can't have too many!
Vardan: Everyone is already his friend. They just don't know it yet....
Stoic?:
- Vardan: He really enjoys expressing his emotions. They're a part of him being alive, and to him that's beautiful. He'll let you know exactly how he's feeling if he wants to.
Reed: Reed understands that there are times when being stoic is a good thing and will apply it when it feels necessary.
Tristain: He feels that his emotions don't matter that much and was taught that showing them is a very bad thing. He wasn't really allowed to be openly sad, angry, elated, etc. He's starting to ease out of this mindset.
Anon: Why let your emotions show when it does no good and keeping them quiet does no harm? Anon is private about his emotions because he feels that they're nobody's business but his own.
Alton: Emotions are mostly useless to Alton. That's not to say he's unaffected by them, no; much of what he does is emotionally driven because that's all he really has. Showing them, on the other hand, is very hindering...
Graceful?:
- Reed: Big fatty ain't got much grace. =v=
Vardan: He's getting practice! Traveling around everywhere is really helping him to hone his skills, and moving around is getting easier (and more graceful).
Tristain: He's got a lot of technical skill when it comes to movement. As surprising as it is, he's got some grace in that scrawny figure.
Anon:
Alton: "GRACEFUL LIKE A VIOLENT SWAN" is meant to be literal here. He's crazy agile for a bookworm. Hell, he's crazy agile.
Stubborn?:
- Tristain: Biggest pushover in the world. He has more give than a door.
Anon: He knows what he wants and he knows what would be best. If it doesn't matter, he doesn't care. If it does, he's not the person to argue with.
Reed: Reed's way is usually best, at least in the Reshiram's opinion. Doesn't mean it can't be talked out of something, however.
Vardan: He wants to do things his way. You really have to appeal to him to change his mind. Temptation doesn't do too well, for that matter.
Alton: His way or the highway. No if's, and's, or but's. His ways are always best, his opinions are solid.
Couragous?:
- Tristain: He thinks just about everything is going to kill him. Anything can scare him; it really does not take much...
Reed: Reed is just... a reeeaalllyyy average dude....
Alton: He doesn't scare easy.
Anon: Stupidly courageous is meant to be literal. He's got no reason to be afraid--he's dead, what more could anyone do to him?
Vardan: Fight for the helpless, stand back-to-back with the greats, laugh in the face of danger! Vardan doesn't seem to register danger for himself until he's staring death in the face; and even then he's not deterred easily.
Loyal?:
- Alton: He can't trust people, why should he stick with them if they're completely useless?
Anon: I would have placed him higher, but he's had a few points in his relationship with Micah where he's disappeared--quite literally vanished from the spot. He can't take much embarrassment/stress in one go, so he'll run away if he gets overwhelmed. Usually he corrects this within a few minutes. The longest he's ever been gone was about two days. That's only because he got lost in the mines.
Reed: He expects people to trust him, so he shouldn't betray it. He's dedicated to someone until they prove unworthy of his loyalty.
Vardan & Tristain:
Lawfullness?:
- Alton: Any law that hinders his judgement is a law to ignore.
Anon: If he has to go around the law to do something good, he won't heasitate. He doesn't really care about what laws there are--he'll just do what is best for his family and the public good however he needs to.
Vardan: Laws are really important to him. They're there for a reason! He'll sometimes doubt them, but he'd never go out of his way to break them.
Reed: Reed believes that all laws have to be followed, even if they're not the best.
Tristain: Rules are rules. Break the rules, you get broken, too. That's what he's been taught, that's what's been reinforced. He's horrified to do much of anything before he understands what "the rules" are.
Attitude:
- Alton: He views things analytically & realistically for the most part. His usual sourness tends to sway him a little more towards pessimism, however.
Tristain: He's very much a realist. He doesn't sway one way or the other, really.
Anon: He's started to view things in a brighter light as of late. He used to be very pessimistic, and can fall back into that thinking now and then.
Reed & Vardan: Confident, hopeful, totally optimistic. It's really hard to rain on their parade or dampen their spirits.
