Description
Something is clearly strange, when you see the two sport fanatics like Abbe and Lizzie, in a library of all things. Today, was such a day, but they were not in there for themselves. "Abbe... do we have to be in here... the whole place smells of old people!" Lizzie complained, a book clerk zebra spun round in a heart beat and quickly motioned her to be quiet. She sighed, and rested her head against her arms on the desk. Meanwhile Abbe stood on a movable stair lift to reach the books higher on the shelf "Come on sis, the book Tom talked about has to be here."
The two sisters were on the hunt for a peculiar book, a book rumored to contain a 'how to guide' on many complicated contraptions made by a famous inventor in the past. According to what Tom had said, the creations were millions of years old, yet they were far more complex-ed then anything made in the current age. "Sis... what if its not real!" Lizzie shouted again, immediately hushed by the same zebra clerk, this time a lot more furiously.
Lizzie frowned and stuck her tongue out at the zebra as he turned his back, then slumped back down. It was then she noticed something strange in the desk , it was a tiny indentation of some kind of symbol. I looked like the head of a lion, surrounded by many circular patterns. Lizzie observed it curiously, "Hey, sis. I found something!" Lizzie was promptly bonked on the head with a book"Shout one more time and i'll make you into a rug for a day!" The zebra snapped.
It was then the head clerk walked in and saw the zebra shouting, moments later a black and white balloon hovered casually up in the air, a strange black 'string' tied to a chair.
"What did you find?" Abbe asked, walking over to Lizzie, she looked at where she was pointing.
"This looks, interesting... I think your onto sis,the inventor was a lion." Lizzie smiled happily, the sooner they found the book the better.
They tried many ideas but nothing seemed to work, they pressed at the symbol, and even tried to find a picture matching it in the books, but no such luck. That was in till Lizzie accidentally knocked over a chair with her tail "Oppsi, sor - mpphhhhh..." before she shouted again Abbe covered her mouth with a paw "Come on, sis, i'd rather you with me, not as a balloon." She glanced over at the head clerk, who gave Lizzie a narrowed stare.
As Lizzie tried to put the chair back she noticed something strange , She blinked "Hey, there's something stuck on the chair..." Lizzie peeled it off and gave it to Abbe, "This is something..." Abbe remarked, the two held the the seemingly ancient envelope together.
After a bit of fumbling, a pure silver coin suddenly drops from it, landing on the desk with a clatter. "What could it be?" Lizzie wondered, Abbe leaned in more closely.
The coin had the same lion pattern as the indentation on the table, curiosity sparked as she slid the coin across with her paw, It was oddly cold to touch. As the coin lined up with the pattern on the table, it glowed a brilliant white, becoming hundreds of degrees hotter it melted into the desk...
The two wolfs looked at each over excitedly, wondering what was in store for them. A audible click soon followed, and the desk began to lower down into the floor, quick as a flash the two jumped on top giggling at the puzzled folk who watched them descend into the unknown. "If the book isn't down here, then I don't know where it could be!" Lizzie shouted, annoying the clerk again.
The desk that had once occupied the floor above was then shut tight as a secondary floor extended out, sealing the two in complete darkness. After what seemed like hours, the sisters felt a bump as the desk reached the bottom, fiery torches ignited with a madding flair, filling the room with dancing light, and what a room it was!
The place was huge, at least the size of a football pitch Abbe and Lizzie looked in aura at the amazing wooden and metal contraptions that filled the room, leading down with a few dozen stone steps, The floor bellow was completely made of a fine velvety red carpet, and the wall's seemed to be made of chiseled castle like stone. However, no book was in sight...
"Lizzie, I know your probably as amazed as I am about this, but lets tread lightly there maybe tr... sis?" Abbe looked left and right, then jumped as she saw her running in down the steps. She ran soon after screaming to stop.
"Were going to be famous explorers!" Lizzie screamed back, her expression of happiness suddenly turning to confusion as a step seemed to sink on her.
She looked down at the pressure plate, soon after she was flattened by a classic piston trap. Abbe face-palmed herself "Come on sis, use that brain of yours a place like this is obviously booby-trapped" She scooped her sisters flattened body off the floor, no more then a piece of fine paper.
A quick fluffing up later and she popped back to shape "Few, thanks sis. I got a bit over exited." - "A bit?... I think that was a little more then a bit." Abbe cut her short.
Lizzie just rolled her eyes and ignored her "Come on, we'd better find the book ... I think I see something over there, yeah that say's something about books." Lizzie pointed, and sure enough there was a large sign of some kind, the writing on it too small apart from the title saying 'book.'
Some careful treading later, they reached it, but they were not exactly sure what 'it was,' the whole thing just looked like a massive cube, the size of building with a leaver nearby. "That does not look like a book to me Abbe" Lizzie said, giving the metal cube a knock, it seemed quite hollow.
"Uh.. maybe it's inside.." Abbe said, she was busy reading the small text on the sign. 'Book, mark seven- author note - its always fun to prank once in a while and not take things as seriously...' Abbe read on curiously, she had forgotten about Lizzie.
"Hey sis, I'm going to pull the leaver maybe that will work." - "Yeah, sure..." Abbe replied not really listening.
The green wolf walked over to it and closed her paws over solid bronze leaver, using her strong arms she tried to move it, rust making it incredibly hard to do so. Lizzie groaned as she put as much effort into as possible. Just as Abbe realized what the machine was, the leaver creaked backwards . Abbe's eye's dilated, her ears flopping down as the box began to roar with energy. "RUN!" Abbe shouted, grabbing her sister by the paw the two tried to make a break for it, but were soon stooped in their tracks as two robotic arms grabbed them by the tails and yanked them into the box together.
Abbe was the first, she felt her body quickly become compressed, then molded like putty by the arms into a ball, her face and arms at the front, head against her knees, then the arms began pushing at the sides, making her more rectangular and box like. Not done yet, a heavy presser then pushed in the center, leaving a large part of her as thin as a pancake. Finally, two clamps gripped the rest of her, flattening her sides so she looked just like a book cover. Lizzie was then second, but much more quicker, she was first simply flattened, then stretched out incredibly wide, as wide as the machine itself, Some cutters sliced along, making pages upon pages of her own body, she felt each piece even as it departed from her, feeling no more then a tingle. She laughed like crazy as she felt her papery body written on at a intense speed, before finally being glued tightly into Abbe.
Now complete, the machine spat out it's new book onto the floor, leaving both Lizzie and Abbe in a daze, "Uh... sis... I think we found the book." - "Shut up Lizzie..." Abbe grumbled. Suddenly, Abbe felt herself being lifted up.
Tom giggled in delight, flicking through the pages...

...You know, now that I've seen Tom design and implement an underground passage housing a pseudo-ancient 'toon trap equivalent of a printing press-- and a fake present housing four remote-activated rocket-installing mini-robots-- and whatever complicated gadget pulled Ali through the sewers-- it no longer makes sense that he would order something as comparatively mundane as an automatic bottler from someplace else, nor that it would significantly impact his budget.

Tom's a rich bastard, what can I say. As for the sewer contraption it literally just was a fully controlled arm in a lead box.
