Attempted a more rough painterly color for a dragon. This is an OC from my Wings of Fire AU. He belongs to my gf. Cyclone the TunderWing (a non canon ancestral tribe to SkyWings, RainWings, LeafWings, MudWings and NightWings.) He's a very powerful and immortal elemental animus, basically the avatar. Unfortunately his soul is currently sealed in a staff. The staff is located at the bottom of the great lake in the Wilderwoods. Nori finds it on a particularly deep dive. After bringing it back home Sable senses that there's a soul inside it. After some debate on whether it's a good idea to free whoever is inside, they try that. But Sable isn't powerful enough to take out the entire dragon. But she does awaken him and gives him the ability to project a ghost outside the staff, which is unable to touch anything. This experience is... Very confusing to Cyclone. Probably the first thing he does is scream and retreat back into the staff.
Cyclone lived between 4000 and 5000 years ago, during a massive plague affecting animi, where their infected B. arcanum colonies would produce corrupted ichor without them casting any spells. Only the ancestors of the SeaWings, WaterWings, and those of IceWings and SandWings, BarrenWings, managed to keep their magic. During this time Cyclone ascended to the legendary tier 5, making him immortal and increasing his power. Unfortunately because he was weakened by the plague he couldn't control the magic surge that resulted. It caused a massive and devastating storm that destroyed and killed many. Horrified, he asked his friend Chrysis the BeetleWing to seal his soul away inside an object, to be freed at a much more peaceful time.
Cyclone appears to be around 80, though he doesn't age anymore. He's generally serious and wise. He has a flaw that, as a powerful animus, he tends to see little value in non magical dragons. Back in his day they were not a rarity.
