I decided to try my hand at actually understanding Corel Painter Essentials 2 nights ago because I want to improve my painting skills.
This is a study of the game's main cover art (see here ) but I went a little more derivative... the chains over the lower half of the face were difficult to replicate due to how the contrast and grain is hiked up, so I improvised with painting in some crime scene tape. It was a mini-challenge to get the yellow in that matched the overall washed-out green tones of the palette.

It came out really well I think! I used chalk and textured brushes to replicate the look. No outside editing adjustments were made, but I might try it to see if I can get it to really match the og pic.
