It would appear that my first hypothesis was correct. Absorbing the horn of the fallen king Sombra has set off a transformation deep within my magical core. I fell ill yesterday-I feared my body was rejecting the horn and preparing to purge itself of the foreign contaminant. I vomited several times, a black, thick substance resembling tar. I cannot eat, and sleep is out of the question. But still, this has all been worth it.

Progress is slower than optimal, but I can feel myself growing stronger. This "dark" magic, as it were, blankets my own natural, meek magic, enhancing and weaponizing it. It is difficult to control thus far-in an attempt to turn down the lights last night, I accidentally exploded the lamp. But it doesn't matter. Control will come. Power, power has come to me, at long last. I feel it.

Unfortunately, there are unprecedented side effects. Crystalline growths have begun erupting from under my dermis, and the process is very painful. Numbing spells are growing less and less effective. I managed to halt their growth by ceasing the use of Sombra's magic-but every second I don't use this blessed, dark, wicked magic, my skin crawls, and I feel worms in my brain, compelling me to use it again, to bear the agony of the crystals, if only for another electrifying dose of black magic. It's become a drug, a beautiful, terrible sickness-but I need it. Celestia help me, I need it.

A letter came from Mother today, but it would be a waste of time to open it. She wants her old Moony back, but she cannot save me stop this now. No one can.
