Description

By the end of Clone Wars the Galaxy was in complete chaos, while Outer Rim Sieges were bringing the Republic to victory, but in truth it was nothing more than just a trick orchestrated by Darth Sidious and Grievous, so the general could invade Coruscant without much opposition .

During sieges, Durge finally and completely lost his master’s favor for losing one too many times and was for one final time tasked to kill Anakin Skywalker and Obi-wan Kenobi or he would face a punishment so severe, that the bounty hunter wished to be dead. He finally succeeded by luring his targets into a trap near the planet Maramere in the Outer Rim Territories, along with his partner – a renegade Lord Xist from a Black Sun with his forces, who told the Jedi where Dooku would be…

As Kenobi ran off to look for clues to Separatist Council's whereabouts and to fight Xist (which would result in his death), Skywalker engaged the Gen'Dai in combat. For Anakin it was personal to defeat the bounty hunter, whom hated the most in the Galaxy for traumatizing his former padawan – Ahsoka Tano [www.deviantart.com/lordamus/ar… .

“What’s make you so special, Skywalker? In the eyes of your precious Force, you are just another meatbag to rot when fallen.” Durge asked.

“Well, for starters… my magnetic charm for ugly bullies, who hide behind an armor ("Ouch, how ironic for the future Sith Lord." ).” Anakin said with a phony smile, annoying Durge.

However despite Anakin’s fury, Durge overpowered the young Jedi, slamming him through a hangar blast door, who realised even without the Force why his adversary was so furious.

“Had I known your little meat’s fate by my hands would pain you so, I would have done more. And do more I shall. Carry that agony with you to the Force’s embrace, Jedi Master.” Durge said .

“You talk too much.” Anakin said with a very burning hatred of Maramere’s Sun.

Anakin in return with the Force sent a large number of explosives at his adversary, tearing off his helmet and launching him into a mindless fury.

“Voice box melted? Too bad it didn’t silence you.” Anakin said, while dodging Durge’s vicious attacks, who completely went berserk .

Now Skywalker cut many times with ease an unfocused bounty hunter and finally with the power of Dark Side, he brought him into complete madness and fear .

There would be 2 scenarios how the confrontation ended:
- like in Legends, the bounty hunter, too much afraid too fight, was forced into an escape pod which was guided by Anakin with the Force into Maramere's star, killing Gen’dai, who plagued the Galaxy for millennia, once and for all. Anakin never felt that much satisfaction since he murdered every Tusken Raider in a camp, that held captive his mother ;
- Durge completely broken and barely alive would ultimately escape Skywalker’s wrath. Having enough, his injuries and his mind’s another damage forced him to abandon the war and to find a place where he would hibernate, before he would succumb to his injuries. That way he would disappear from the public for many years, until he once again would terrorize the Galaxy.

Obi-wan found out about the Separatists next move and escaped the exploding ship with his former padawan. As for Dooku, despite his fondness of the bounty hunter, he felt no real loss about his servant’s disappearance. In truth Durge succeeded in his true purpose – giving Jedi a false information, so they would be occupied for a while, giving CIS a necessary time to prepare for their “greatest hour”. Also like general Grievous, Durge had no place in Sith’s New Order for the Galaxy. With him gone and Ventress’s demise during the second battle of Christophsis, only Grievous remained as the most powerful minion of Dooku (I do not count Cad Bane, because he, unlike Durge, had no true loyality to the Sith [despite his clear fear of them], only to money).
