Description
This is from an old shoot, but i have always liked it. I think it's pretty retro, but that isn't such a bad thing. And it's very contrasty for me, but i think it works as a semi-cross-over graphic piece (whatever that means). As some of you may know i am obsessed with the whole good girl/ bad girl duality....this is Nashia...she represents that duality rather well in real life and in front of the camera.
She has a slight Charlize theron thing going on here....and god damn, is that woman yummy.
Fashion is fun, but fussy to shoot.

My kind congratulations on Your Today's Favourite Deviation . It really deserved it. An adorable vision, has a professional editorial style just like photographs from the best fashion magazines. Perfect pose, interesting point of view. Great quality. Well done.
Regards.

Yeah, she does look like Charlize Theron alot here. The contrast IS hawt! Digging the texture of the fire escape too. And the black fingernails = win. Haha, almost missed that. This is a quality shot. I love the perspective to. Not to extreme, but there nonetheless. Great work.

Yes, apart from the tattoo (which I dislike) it looks very 50s and the feeling is enhanced by the B/W and the steel fire escape (?).

I would like to see this one in a massive explosion of colour........ but keeping the background plain just to see how it would turn out.

Oh it is very Hitchcock! Makes me think of Vertigo or Marnie. I like it a lot.

I love the retro feel to this, the modle works perfectly, her expression, her beauty enhances the image alot. I also like how you overexposed the sky, really adding punch to the whole shot. Lovely!

The high contrast works so well with all the lines and the industrial set up. Her pose is intriguing, almost freakish in some way. She is gorgeous yes, but in a very individual way. I really like the quirky angle as well.

I like the shadows, the quirky angle with the pose, the contrast . . . there's something about it that just grabs me.

oh wow, the title says it all. Exccellent contrasting! or it would have otherwise been a normal shot. And I like the angle of the shot too. Interesting

The model is attractive, and for some reason, this piece makes me think she's in an old Alfred Hitchcock movie...

I can't remember how mentioned it but yeah, the feet being cut off kinda leads the eyes from the center of the photograph ^^
Other than that, I don't think you could get more black and white than this and her pose is great, but the woman herself looks a bit, um stiff? But that isn't your fault ^^
I like it ^_^

I love it, high contrast. Not only in lighting, but in her, a retro dress and look, with a great tattoo on the arm. Great work.

excelent shot. I love the pure contrast, yet how it neither the white space or the black areas are overblown.

I really like the use of contrast in this case. The negative space lets the eye focus on the model and appreciate her facial expression. I love the juxtaposition between the black architectural lines on the ladders and the flowing movement of her body and dress.

Yeah, I love the contrast. Both the image contrast of good girl/bad girl you mentioned and the actual technical contrast in the photo. Very sharp, gorgeous.

looking at this shot is like looking at broken perfection. perfection 'cause of the forms (i'm said to be a form-addict person, i don't know, at least i don't remember, i haven't taken photos for more weeks). Broken 'cause of the face. I just miss something from her face, maybe a more unequivocal feeling, i'm not sure, i'm too tired to think on it.

(Smaller version please, it's hard to appreciate!)
Good game of contrasts, I really like the shadows on her gown. The composition is interesting but you usually use us to better
Maybe I would have preffered a smaller aperture with everything well focused. Nice work anyhow
