Torch opened her eyes. She heard hooves, not far away from her and decided to investigate. Stepping out of her room she saw Felix. He was pacing around, seemingly looking for something. Torch walked up to him, trying to figure out what he was looking for. Felix noticed her "Oh, good morning Torch. Did you sleep well?" Torch simply nodded "Lost something?" She asked. Felix began pacing around again at that, as if he was reminded of something "No." he said "Or well, I did. But it's not really something you need to help with Torch." He then walked towards a door "You just go play with Sparks or something, okay?" he then stepped out of the room.

Torch didn't want to play with Sparks today. She found it quite strange that Felix hadn't told her what was lost. She curiously walked around the Lampery until she noticed something. A small piece of paper laying on a table next to the door. This specific door was the entrance to the lampery. Torch tried to take it off the table, but she was too short to do so. after a struggle of trying to get it, she decided it was way easier to just knock over the table. She grabbed it and began to pull it down making sure it wouldn't land too hard and alert Felix. She then grabbed the note and carefully lifted the table back up again. She then ran back to her room, where Sparks was still sleeping, and started reading it

"Dear Felix,
I am sorry to bother you. Really, when I found out I was pregnant it was my intention to take care of her myself, and to not bother you with it. But considering I am here now that didn't work out. I want to ask you to take care of my child. I'm not sure if she's even still alive... It's been so long. Almost 3 times as long as normal. Did I do something wrong? Clearly, I can't do this. Take care of a child. I should've just given them to you sooner. I left the egg on your doorstep with this note. I'm sorry but I just couldn't face you personally. I know this child will live a good life with you, Felix. I have to ask you one thing though, can you name them Velvet if it's a girl and David if it's a boy? Thank you."

Torch quietly sat there. So it's an egg that went missing? That was strange! Eggs can't walk! Or at least, Torch was pretty sure of that. She stood up. She was gonna take a walk through town, maybe someone had seen it? No, that wouldn't work. She didn't know what it looked like after all. She still jumped off the bed. Maybe some sort of animal had taken it? Some animals like shiny things after all. She jumped off her bed and headed for the forest.

She was careful to stay on the path, looking out for any sort of glow. She didn't see anything until very far into the forest. At first, it was just a blur of dark colours in the corner of her eyes. But Torch knew that it wasn't just that. She walked over to where she had seen it. A shadow affinity felinander stood protectively before an egg. Torch carefully approached "Egg?" she asked, nodding towards the egg. It had yellow lava and was mainly pink although some parts were brown-ish. The felinander hissed raising a paw to pounce on Torch. She easily dodged it. She had already expected the felinander to attack her. She pointed at the egg "Not yours" she angrily stared at the felinander. The felinander hissed in return. Torch decided it might just work better to hiss back, so she did. The felinander looked quite startled. It backed off a bit, confused. Torch walked up to the egg. it was laying on a piece of fabric. She carefully folded it around the egg, lifting it. she looked at the Felinander "With me?" he asked. The felinander didn't seem to want to come with her, but when she took off it decided to follow her anyways.

When she showed up at the lampery some lavalings gave her and the felinander weird looks. Torch kept walking. Felix seemed really worried by now, talking with some other adults. Torch quietly pressed her nose to Felix's leg "Not now Torch." he said. Torch got a bit annoyed. She was trying to help him! She had helped him! She dropped the egg with a small thud. At that, Felix looked at her, confused "Torch!I told you not to! Can't you just do what I ask for once?" Torch huffed as Felix picked up the egg "Who is that little guy?" Felix reached to pet the felinander who then tried to bite him. "Okay then." Felix frowned. he then looked back at Torch "You can keep him. but make sure he doesn't bite anyone, okay?" Torch nodded.
