(this is before Torch went mute, and will eventually lead up to the moment that she "decides" to stop talking)
Day 1
Hello! My name is Torch. I guess I don't really need to tell you my name but I just feel like it. Felix gave me this. I sorta taught myself to write? It's hard holding pens without fingers. But look! I can sorta write? some lytes must be better at it but those lytes have fingers! How about I tell you something about myself? Like I said, my name is Torch. Felix said my egg was found a while ago. at the edge of the forest. another lyte found it and brought it to Felix so I would be safe here! I hatched.. a while ago. Oh! you know what's funny? I see a lot of other lavalings in here but their lamps are usually at certain places, like their neck or ears, but mine are not like that! I guess I should stop writing now. my feet are sorta hurting. I'll write more later!
Day 4
It's me again~ It's been a while. guess what? I found out I can do some magic! I looked at some books and I think it might be shadow magic. I think it's really cool! I've shown it to some others but they just give me weird looks? Maybe they just don't like magic. Yeah! that must be it.
Day 5
I went into town a bit today. I figured I'd show my magic to some other people. They all gave me weird looks. Some looked angry. other looked worried? sad? I am not sure... Am I doing something wrong? Maybe I should just... Stop doing it now? But I like it so much. And I really don't get it. Why is it so bad that I can do this? Maybe I should go to Felix about it. I am sure he knows!
Day 6
I went to Felix today. He told me that the thing I have is an affinity to shadow magic. I am not sure what that is still. He also said that many other astrolytes look down on it. that many say it is "cheating" the magic system. Felix told me it would be better to not show it to others anymore and to just enjoy it with my friends. He also said that Shadow magic is a forbidden magic, which I am also not sure what it is. I'll have to do some more research but it is alright.
