Ividian wished to helped as soon as he heard about the Rescue Races. He rushed to the side to help and stumbled across a grumpy dark mareep, named Goober. He swiftly recruited him to help around the shipwreck-site, much to the mareep annoyance, but yet he tagged along.

Ividian was the first to dive in to retrieve the pokemons who fell in the water, such as miss Jigglypuff, and followed Goober's guidance to push her in the safety of the beach. On the beach, he used his powerful jaws to crack open a coconut for miss Gothita to drink. Then they reached Silicobra stuck in his rock to fend off the Wingulls! Goober may have gotten a bit carried away with his sparks! On the rocks, they tried to mak Pyukumukyu to relocate, and eventually moved them by force.. well tried to. To release Lanturn, stuck under the haul, it was harder to reach them, but thanks to forcefully brought Goober's light, Ividian was able to crack an exit for the fish to slither out of.
