That's why I find that hobby to be a hard one to get into. I love RC's but something like that is insane in my book. Thanks for sharing the event though. It's always entertaining to see the destruction of something beautiful.

Flying RC's isn't all that hard to get into if you go the foam route. You can have a pretty fun flyer for about $300. Obviously that's not as visually stunning as these kind of toys, but it doesn't break the bank when you crash.

And, in my experience, those foam fliers are damn durable too. Especially if you're just taking nose dives onto grass at the park.

It was painful to watch. Our field doesn't have a set waiver box and aerobatic box, so we settle for RC aerobatics. It about 50 feet AGL, smoke on when the smoke cut out, it rolled over, started nosing down, and hit nose first right on the Runway.
