Ever since I was a kid, I loved the movie Memphis Belle. Watching it again as an adult, it's a sobering account and possibly one of the best movies about the second World War. I particularly like how it didn't jerk at the political emotion strings and demonize the Germans. It portrayed the young men involved on both sides as victims of lesser men who call themselves "leaders."

Seeing not just one, but four B-17's at AirVenture and see them all flying was a very special event for me. When EAA's magazine Sport Aviation published a poll of all members, the P-51 got to honors. It received nearly 5 times the vote than any other aircraft. The next ones down the list were the F-4U, P-38, DC-3, and then Spitfire.

Personally, above any MiG, above any Aero, and above any other aircraft in existence, I'd want to take the yoke of the Flying Fortress.
