Ditzy is angry and had enough of everyone and every ponies shit and the completely unjustified and criminal ways she has been abused.:EDIT: Colour resample for everything but the eye iris's as I like them the way they are.
This is DITZY from season 1, the famous mare from her one spoken line and animation eye error. (And seemingly distant from reality)
Not DERPY (the completely retarded pony) that replaced Ditzy in season 2.
While Ditzy can be nicked name "Derpy" and giving her derpy eyes is acceptable, but making her retarded is COMPLETELY overstepping the line.
I proudly support smart or average ditzy.

Coming from some who works with mentally impaired kids of all levels, I didn't get the impression that Derpy was mentally impaired. Clumsy and having an unusual voice, yeah, but not mentally impaired.

Okay, really, alot of people take this new my little pony cartoon to extreme crapville, 'SERIOUSLY!'
Derpy hooves, Ditzy doo, whatever the heck you want to call her, was a bg character from the start. Since then, the creators decided to give their design character a roll in one episode and did 'cause the audience liked her. I didn't even think about her being the 'R' word, in fact I hate that word with every fiber of my being. I just went with the flow of the toon when I watched it and enjoyed it. As for her voice, I say deal with it. It was the staffs choice, who knows how they make their decisions, just drop the situation and leave it alone.
The creators aren't intending to make her disabled, even though it might seem like that to some, but it's not. If you look close at some episodes too, there are alot of ponies that seem similar, like the one they call 'doctor hooves' in one episode, you see him as an earth pony, then a next in the episode
"Sonic Rainboom" you see him again, yet he's a pegasus, same with the one in "Heart's and Hooves Day" where the CMC's were singing, a pony with a brown mane and 3 blue horseshoes as cutie-marks is with a girl pegasus under a tree. He's in "sonic rainboom" too, but as a pegasus. The animators jumble up the characters to be common, even changing the colors of them. What really matters are the main ponies that r important in the cartoon.
I swear, some people get soooo obsessed and ticky about this show. Why can't things be mild and fun for this cartoon, for younger children's sakes. Please peoples, it just makes me sick with all this smut and profanity towards a younger generation cartoon not intentionally meant for people alot older than at least 10 and below.

Not necessarily, that purple maned pony is unnamed. It is fanon that some people call her Ditzy Doo, being that our favorite cross-eyed mare's beta-name was Ditzy Doo (It was, just FYI), Ditzy Doo was canon before season 2, so we are not dealing with a fanon-canon issue, we are dealing with a conflicting canon issue. There have also been numerous instances when fans of certain series have disregarded some canon, most notably Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. He had optic blast in the movie, but he never had that in the comics, and most of the fans completely rejected that canon shown in the movie. Point being,fans and their headcanon are touchy subjects and will not change for anyone.

Okay so where do I begin?. Firstly I am in full support of LtDasher's opinions, and secondly people like =borrowsoul or heroman really need to grow some common sense before commenting on this site.
It was clear that she was depicted as having a mentally challenged personality in seasons 2, if you can't see that then YOU are the one that's retarded. As for *heroman4b3 you do realize that the names "ditzy" and "derpy" could be used to differentiate the pony's from season 1 and 2?.
Clearly LtDasher and many alike dissagree with the seasons 2 depiction of this character for many reasons, one being is that there version of derpy in there minds were of a misunderstood character with a few minor faults but otherwise intelligent.
The complete opposite of this was shown in season 2.
And if you disagree with me that's fine you are entitled to your own opinions just don't belittle me or LtDasher. He made this fine vector for your viewing pleasure, respect that and move on instead of writing comments that attack either the author or other commenters on this site.

Actually sir you are wrong,is season 1 they never actually give the name ditzy to this particular BG pony (derpy) and they never confront her with this name either. Nopony admits her as the name ditzy. in that season one episode you are referencing the pony who actually says ditzy is not singling out this particular pony (derpy). She could have been talking about any other pony. so you sir are wrong and a troll.

Very nice artwork here, I for one cannot master vectoring for the life of me, I find it more difficult than actual linework honestly x3
But I really have to say, getting mad about how the character Derpy is about as useless as complaining that Ed from Ed Edd 'n Eddy is a horribly insensitive and offensive character to those with disabilities. Some things aren't really meant to be taken so seriously, and cartoon gags qualify there I believe x3
And besides, including the name Derpy and giving her a scene with lines was a gift to the fandom, why throw it back?

I think Ditzy's original purpose, and still is, to just pose as comic relief. She makes mistakes and messes up all the time. Her eyes might just be a medical condition and assuming she's "retarded" just because of her mishaps is quite a far step to take. See, it's not the idea of a mentally unstable character that upsets people, it's because people are associating an accident-prone pony with the mentally unstable. Does that imply that anyone with a mental handicap is accident prone? can only make mistakes? But, as above, Ditzy is basically just a ditz. It's the name "Derpy" that strikes a tender chord. You have to realise that even though most of the fandom don't think the word "derp" connects to the mentally ill, others do. The word itself derives from mocking one's intelligence, deeming them as being a "retard". Have you ever teased a friend who made a mistake by saying "durrrr"? Or heard someone do that? What are you/they imitating? Some dudes will take offense, some will laugh it off, but I just wish this fight would end. Ditzy was her beta-name, there is no mistaking that. So in that sense, Ditzy was canon for a longer period of time. I originally knew her as Derpy Hooves, but after I heard the name Ditzy Doo, I slowly came to like that name more. And I dont appreciate how some people think that they can tell me how to think. If you dont agree with someone's side of an argument, thats fine, just accept that they feel that way and move on.
