Nobody on dA ever tried designing both Trixie's parents, ohh yess I'm the first one whooo
Her mother is next (got some problem's with her design) (:
I totally see him, his daughter and Trixie's mom coming back to Ponieville for revenge...
Full name: Percival Lulamoon
Race: Unicorn
Cutie mark: a wand using black magic, in the shape of a crescent moon. Percival is a magician, but he prefers the more dangerous black magic above regular magic. Black magic is forbidden in Equestria, he is a wanted pony all around the land. His magic is also black colored (purplish when he was a colt and baby).
Personality: mysterious, usually quiet, however loud when performing, egoistic, only think about himself (with his family as only exception), slightly sadistic, tricks and robs everypony, lying is his second best talent...
Facts:
- travel's around the country with his wife
- his magic is much, much stronger at night
- a trickster, never trust him...
- loves having power over someone
- is a big fan of Nightmare Moon and devises a plan to bring her back
- sleeps at day, awake at night

Trixie inherited from her dad:
- Talent for magic
- Blue coat, blue mane and purple eye color
- Part of his tail and mane style
- One reflection in her eyes, no lighter stripes in eyes
- Speaking in the third person when performing
- Being an antagonist
- A big ego
- A tendency to lie

I think the concept of the character is very neat, but I am not sure how well it matches Trixie's background and personality. She isn't an evil unicorn, even when she tried out that collar to amplify her magical abilities, just a showpony and a braggart. Her intentions were not to use forbidden magic, but rather to receive admiration and respect from all other ponies. Plus, she's a bit of a compulsive liar. That might indicate to me that her parents would be similar to that. Perhaps they were overly doting parents who convinced her that she was the best and smartest unicorn in the world, or perhaps they were in the show biz and she is just trying to follow suite. Maybe her parents also tell a lot of lies as part of getting more ponies at their shows. So, based on her personality I would think the following about her parents and her living situation:
She was an only-filly (never learned how to share or negotiate with others)
She didn't get a lot of attention from her parents and thus craves it (perhaps because both of her parents were in the show biz)
Her parents may have been unscrupulous in how they advertised their shows and even staged things to happen on set just for the wow factor despite their magic abilities not actually being as powerful as they seemed.
So, while this character is really neat, it just doesn't fit Trixie. She isn't a very powerful unicorn, so her parents probably weren't all that powerful either. I think the concept here is cool, but if you're aiming to make Trixie's parents, I think you need to kind of start over with something more fitting for her character.

There are so many things wrong with the whole cutiemark destiny thing, this being one of them. Β If he was destined to work with black magic, then he can't help but use it. Β To not use it is to deny a part of himself, but to use it is to break the law. Β Can't Celestia give this guy a pardon or something, jeez.

Haven't decided on her design yet. Although I thought about a greyish blue mare with a light blue and either pure white or yellow mane with very light colored eyes.

Black magic forbidden? I have a character who uses dark magic on a daily basis. But then again he's also an undead, skeleton unicorn. But I really like this character. This might explain Trixie's attitude.

I could totally imagine him being Trixie's father and him coming back to Ponyville with Trixie to get revenge on Twilight.I could make up a really sad story though about Percival dying and that's why Trixie lies and boasts. I actually prefer Trixie over Twilight, I don't know why though. I like Trixie's coloring a lot and her cute big ego.
