Description
This was my first shoot after about a year-long hiatus. It was also my first as a freelance photographer, a position I undertook after leaving my cushy (but soul-crushing) corporate job a few months prior. And I'd never liked shooting black cars. Needless to say, I was a bit nervous.

So, I went back to basics, letting Mother Nature light a scene that would require very little post work: the Claremont boat launch, in Long Beach, CA. The results were a clean, high-key shoot I'm really proud of, of a dark, wide (the car was cut into quarters and lengthened/widened), menacing (there's also a 700+hp NASCAR engine underhood) machine on its home turf.
